That's because they are shit and lose a lot regardless of how it could affect us.

Then beat Manchester United.

I didn't realise Van Persie was in on the act as well.

There are about to be some disturbing scenes at the Grimsby match, I was going to say back to the dark ages but I've been to Grimsby (Cleethorpes).

Burnley beat Man City despite being shit. It happens.

Some of us are becoming as obsessed with the Bitters as they are with us. Sort it out lads.

Agreed. To think their players, professional footballers with win/goal/clean sheet bonuses written into their contracts, most of whom have little or no local affiliation will suddenly forgo thousands of £ to screw us is preposterous. Like Insaid yesterday if it was a fans game they'd very gladly roll over and play dead, but it simply doesn't work that way. Newcastle despite their problems will need to change their fortunes for their own reasons but it won't because Albion "let them".

There is such a thin line between been at the top of your game or seemingly coasting though.  Players do not need the win bonuses from every game with the money they earn these days.  This is why as Dave said, it happens every season.

Not denying that but we are talking about a Newcastle team that has lost 8 straight. If anyone has been coasting it is that lot despite the urgency of their situation. And they have a plank of a manager that just accused a player of getting sent off intentionally. If they keep Carver I'll be amazed if they show any fight at all next week. At the end of the day players don't get fired, managers do. And if they go down the rats that took the ship down will look for ways out. So while Albion may not be at their very best next week they'll be against a side that has mastered being shit for almost 3 months now.

I feel the need to defend Grimsby because I went there to visit a mate a while back and had a grand old time but if we're being honest it is a bit of a dump.

Anyway I just wanted an excuse to post their goals from the first playoff semifinal because they're both great:

You must have amnesia as it keeps happening.
Coincidence ??
Nah

It's because they are shit, but even a shit side can get a decent win now and again.

This pathetic conspiracy that Albion try and screw us, 2012/13 They won 4 games after Boxing Day. Which is what happens when you're shite.
2013/14 They won 4 games after November the second. Same again. They lose a lot because they are generally shite.

It might not be true but it's certainly a huge coincidence that they invariably lose against the teams who are around us while they're always able to somehow get enough points off the better teams to keep themselves out of trouble.

Chelsea win the league. A sad day for football.

Did they? Big f*****g deal in that case. Oh and they bought it, they didn't win it. Bunch of c***ts from their fans to their players to their manager and back again.

Sounds like us under Lambert, which is also because we were shite more often than not.

Players raise themselves for bigger matches. Last season we had the highest points against top 6 sides and the lowest against the bottom 6.

I've got a real soft spot for the football club, they are a real community club and have some great people working for them.

But yes, it is a dump although I discovered the ground isn't actually in Grimsby but just inside Cleethorpes. Which is also a dump.

If that's the case then why doesn't every club do it?

That they might lose to Newcastle next week is then just who they are which is why they are in the lower reaches of the table. I don't equate that to sticking it to Villa. It's just that they are inconsistent, or more consistently shit than not.

if you could hand pick a side to play next week West Ham would be right up there

they won their last game so no real pressure, they are comfortable in the league with nothing to go for, they wont come with a load of attacking intent, their manager seems to be on his way out and the players may feel that, ultimately they aren't that good or scary

and that's whats worrying, if we could hand pick we might well choose them,
that's exactly the sort of senario we like to fuck up in the past
