Both take blame, but Lambert mainly because i'm convinced I could have been  in charge for 25 games and we'd have scored more. In fact my cat could have got us scoring more and it's been dead a decade.

Lambert was definitely to blame for the shitness on the pitch, but they stuck with him far, far too long.

Even if you accept that they were right to stick with him to the start of the season - and that is highly debatable - it is staggering to think they gave him so long this season.

His period here was characterised by breaking unwanted record after unwanted record, and by this season we'd become a national joke (quite literally). They should have given him the bullet way before they did.

He was lucky to be in a job at the end of the first season.

He was incredibly lucky to still be there after two seasons.

The fact he not only survived so long in the third but also - and this is mindboggling - managed to pick up a new contract on the basis of a decent run which lasted all of four league matches (despite including an embarrassing league cup exit to a lower league club) is just remarkable.

As it stands, we will probably stay up, but the fact that they left it so long and we are still so at risk with four games to go shows just how close they pushed it. Either it was not caring (hey, this is our level, at least we're still in the top flight, we're happy) too much or being incredibly incompetent (for which they have form), but either way it really was piss poor management.

Here's hoping we get away with it this season and get some people with proper, working brains who give half a shit in this summer, otherwise we'll no doubt get even more of the stupidity.

After the last few years, I wouldn't even put "has loads of money" at the top of my list of attributes for a new owner. I'll be happy with:

1. Knows what they're doing
2. Is in it properly, and for the long haul.

I'd love to know the full stories of apparently the two occasions he offered to resign/told the board to sack him and they just ignored him and told him to carry on!

A few journos have hinted at this in a few of the articles, I presume one of the offers came in New York at the end of last season when it was an ideal time to sack him and get in Sherwood or someone else there and then.

I've never been able to believe that. Lambert turned out to be an utterly shit manager for us but I just don't see him having so little pride or respect for himself that he'd a) ask to be sacked, and on the slim chance that did happen b) stay on in the job after admitting he's too shit to do it.

Just watched Nigel Pearson's post-match interview and press conference tonight. He's really a big fan of Nigel Pearson.

Yeh, I don't believe it for a second. If you are so desperate to be fired, resign and then fight it in the courts by claiming how impossible the working conditions were. The man was walking excuse and is being shown up with the way we are now playing.

Yep.  Properly into himself and seems to consider himself somewhat of an intellectual.  He apparently had a bizarre rant at a journalist after the game, calling him an ostrich.

That genuinely has made me LOL. A lot. I don't even know if it's true but I can't stop laughing.

A quick google reveals this to be the interview. He ay all there is he. Reporter comments in bold, Pearson comments in the loony bin.

What criticism are you talking about?

Have you been on holiday for six months? Have you been away for six months?

I am not quite sure what specific criticism you are referring to?

I think you must have been either head in the clouds or away on holiday or reporting on a different team because if you don’t know the answer to that question your question is absolutely unbelievable the fact you do not understand where I am coming from. If you don’t know the answer to that question then I think you are an ostrich. Your head must be in the sand. Is your head in the sand? Are you flexible enough to get your head in the sand? My suspicion would be no.

Probably not.

I can, you can’t. You can’t. Listen you have been here often enough and for you to ask that question, you are either being very, very silly or you are being absolutely stupid, one of the two because for you to ask that question, I am sorry son, you are daft.

There hasn’t been much harsh criticism of the players.

You are wrong. No, you are wrong. You have been in here, I know you have so don’t give that crap with me, please don’t give that crap with me. I will smile at you because I can afford to smile at you. Now do you want to ask a different question or do you want to ask it differently. Come on, ask it. Ask it or are you not capable?

I just don’t know what you, erm…

You don’t know. What’s erm?

I don’t know how you’ve taken that question.

Well you must be very stupid. I’m sorry.

I'm in Montreal at the Big O watching Montreal Impact vs Club America in the Champions League Final second leg. Winner heads to Japan to the FIFA Club World Cup. 1-1 from the first leg in Mexico, Montreal have just a taken the lead. 61,000 in attendance. Great atmosphere.

Ah well, ended 4-2 to Club America

I think you answered your own question there Paulie...

...they put themselves in the awkward position where there would have been asking themselves how can they sack a manager so soon after they've just given him a new 4 year contract.

After winning a few quid by having a tenner on Hull at 3/1 on Tuesday (plus an apology from my old man after he took the piss out of me for placing the bet) I came close to glory last night. I had Chelsea to win 3-2 at 25/1.

Re - worded he went looking for a pay off.

If he'd genuinely wanted out he would of resigned and walked away from the pay out. He didn't .

All about money .

I think the only way Pearson is going to learn is if the FA dock Leicester points. 13 points, I'd say.
