We could be back down to earth with a bump after this weekend.  Nothing much going our way in the other games.

Which is why I wasn't so keen to join in with the humble-pie eating in the Sherwood thread just yet.

We've still got an awful lot to do, and results like today's remind us of that.
However results are as how it will keep spinning till the end of the season. Nothing really bad for us and we can't expect everyone below us to lose. The way I see it despite some favourable results for teams in the  relegation zone all who started the day below is are still there.

QPR and Burnley have both wasted precious games today that they had to win. They both look gone to me now. So it's one other and I don't honestly think it will be us. The good thing today as that Newcastle are getting dragged into it.

I honestly think there's only one more place left now as I think Burnley and QPR are gone.

So apart from Burnley, everyone around us has picked up points. Need a performance.

QPR and Burnley look like gonners, so there's 3 or 4 of us in the mix for the last place.

I fancy our chances.

Could have been better, could have been worse.  It's all still in our own hands, we don't want our fate in the hands of others especially the likes of Palace or West Ham.

What? Two out of five relegation rivals, if you include Newcastle, won....

Perhaps I'm still on a high from Wembley but I don't think it was disastrous today. Heck we haven't played yet

Sunderland, Hull, Barcodes, Leicester and us are the five fighting to avoid one slot.
We need 6-7 points. Our run-in is not horrible but we could do with the requisite points sooner rather than later for the sake of the cup final prospects and my heart.

Surely that would have been the case mathematically?

Swings and roundabouts. One week it goes well, the next it doesn't. Out of the bottom sides we have the hardest game this weekend. Still, we haven't lost it yet.

QPR and Burnley are gone now for me. So Villa, Hull, Sunderland and Leicester for the other position. A bad weekend but we are still above them all aren't we? So the momentum is still with us with the added bonus that when Burnley come to play us they should already be relegated, no do or die 50/50 game.

Hull still have a real nasty run in and Sunderland are still very poor at the moment. Leicester are on the charge but we only need to finish above on of them and with home games against West Ham, Everton and a relegated Burnley we should comfortably do it.

What's the panic about?

Twenty years after nearly beating us in the League Cup Semi Final Tranmere are out of the football league.
