That Cavani is shite though isn't he?  All that hype and money, will probably end up at Manure replacing Falcao.

I thought I was alone in my complete amazement at the world falling about for the wonder of Cavani. Much like DiMaria for me, massively over hyped and produces bugger all.

He had a good game in the first Chelsea match when they were down to 10 men. However he seems to be of the same ilk as Abrahimovic with not seeming to be anything special in the 90% of matches I have watched him in.

I disagree Ibrahimovich is a phenomenal talent - some of the goals he scores and in massive games have been breathtaking. Cavani just looks a lump.

Zlatan might not be the player he was but he's still too good to be heading off for his rumoured early retirement in MLS. If he puts his mind to it, he'll cause carnage in that league

If I was in charge of any premier league title chasers then I would sign Ibrahimovich on a two year contract from next season.  He could cause carnage in our league never mind the MLS.

Swindon let me down for a 6/1 fivefold last night. It was the last result from my selections read out on the radio so I had got my hopes up.

Whenever his team score a goal Messi always looks delighted. Whenever Ronaldo's team scores he almost looks pissed off that he isn't the centre of attention. Messi looks like he just loves playing football.

And that's why I think Messi is a better player, he makes decisions based on what's best for Barcelona, Ronaldo makes decisions based on what is best for Ronaldo.

I agree that it does not change how talented the individual is, but part of football is that it is a team game, and Messi does more for the team cohesion than Ronaldo in my view. It is also a spectator sport, and I would chose to watch Messi everytime offered over watching Ronaldo. When things are not going his way, Messi gets up and gets on with it, tries again, Ronaldo has a habit of sulking. There was a theory for a long time that Ronaldo is a bit of a flat track bully, and I still see that in him. Messi has done it in the biggest of games. Didn't he even score a header in a champions league final? And has now adapted to having 2 superstars sharing his limelight up front in a brilliant manner. Ronaldo gets the hump when not the star.

That's been true for his entire career, it's why he's generally always been a big game player, when he can be bothered he's almost unplayable but, like many players, he's happy to coast when the pressure is off.  I agree he was very poor yesterday though.

Cavani banged in 104 goals in 138 games for Napoli, 19 in 25 in Europe, playing exclusively as a striker, so I'm not quite sure how that could be regarded as fuck all. He's done alright at PSG for someone who mostly plays out wide in support of Zlatan. I think he's the sort of player who needs to play through the middle every week, rather than every now and then as an understudy, to be at his best.

This.

People are too quick to form opinions by watching a small number of matches. He is a top, top player.

Whenever i think 'this Falcao bloke is a bit shit' I have to remind myself of his record elsewhere. Sometimes players just don't fit, or are forced to fit in the wrong position.

P.s. He has definitely been a bit shit though.

So PSG are copying the Villa plan that worked oh so well of playing strikers out wide.

Bristol City are 17/10 to win away to Chesterfield. They are 5 places and 25 points ahead of Chesterfield. I know the logic is that they have won the league and been celebrating since their last game and that Chesterfield need to clinch a play off place but at that price I am sticking a few quid on Bristol, especially as Chesterfield are playing with some pressure. Rochdale need to win their last two and hope Chesterfield lose their last two to pip them.
