Talk sport reporter said the half and half scarves were selling well at the Manchester derby

Got me thinking, has Anyone ever seen such a thing as a Villa Blues half and half ?

There's a pub over Burntwood way that has a Villa Blues half and half shirt on the ceiling, quite bizarre.

Walking round the Lowry centre pre game last week there were loads of Chinese, Malaysian, Japanese reds all wearing half Yanited / Villa scarves. It was quite a touching moment.

If they'd sold half-and-half scarves in 1983, I may well have been tempted when we played Juventus...

I've actually still got one from Bilbao,
So they have been going for some time

It would be nice to think that the Man City manager would get another season but after today, he probably won't.

He won't.  So cue another summer of ridiculous spending by City, with the knock-on effect of inflated prices in the market where we will be shopping.

If Eliaquim Mangala is worth £32m then there's hope for John O'Shea yet.

John O'Shea must be the worst defender in the league by a distance. But Mangala runs him pretty close. What an incredible waste. But then there are quite a few in the 20-30 million bracket I look at ant think how on earth.... Willian at Chelsea, Soldado at Spurs, Ozil for 42 million? Di Maria at £59? All of them are bang average footballers, that have good games from time to time but are genuinely nowhere close to say Sanchez who has delivered every week pretty much even when not scoring, or Fabregas, or Aguerro. I just fail to see how they are in the same price bracket.

If you ever feel yourself softening on your view of Chelsea being a bunch of classless chavs then bookmark this from yesterday's game vs QPR.

Only ever bought a half and half scarf twice, 1st was that marvellous occasion when we played Athletic Bilbao in 1997 when we were hanging around with their great fans -  and the other was when we played Brighton in the Cup five years ago. I live in Sussex, know a lot of Albion fans (a lot of whom were sat in the North Stand Upper that day while I went in the Holte) so it just seemed a nice souvenir of the day. Never worn it and will never wear it probably but I just needed to get one.

Probably would have come in handy if you were stood on the Witton End that night in the "mixed" section.  Probably the most moody atmosphere I've ever witnessed at VP.
You could have cut the atmosphere with a knife, which was quite apt if you believed the stories that most of them were carrying one.

Not wishing to dampen the spirit of disgust for Chelsea
But I saw this in real time, and the Chelsea bloke isn't actually doing it in Ramseys face as it seems in that shot,
he is celebrating a few steps in front of him and not to him

Still classless chavs though obviously

I have a half half from the away game in Hamburg, great trip, only made more legendary with my ability to have the worst trotts imaginable on the drive back to Amsterdam airport the next day, frequenting both gents and ladies rest stop shitters with incredible regularity, sitting on the flight (having only just made it) clenched like a vice, then throwing up literally as I walked back into my house. Fuck me I was ill.

Great night though!

I foolishly had 5 Live phone in on for a short time earlier and heard a Citeh supporter demanding Pellegrini be sacked. I hate these people.

Quite right too. To spend the money they have and just about clinging on to 4th place is very poor. They can't live in the 'well we are City, we used to be crap' mindset, that's what is costing them progress in the Champions League and prevents full houses/good atmosphere in that.

I hope we're still saying what a terrible defender Mangela is in a couple of weeks.

"His positioning for Benteke's 4th was terrible. I bet Pellegrini gave him pelters at half-time after that one."
