Sorry to interrupt, but what are Turkey Twizzlers when they are at home? They sound like something invented by Roald Dahl.

Illegal immigrants from the former Ottoman Empire renowned for their dancing. Nigel Farage hates them.

Thanks for filling in the gap in my cultural memory-bank, CD. I can sleep easy now.

As you were, everyone.

I might have fibbed. They're just a savoury snack made from, you've guessed it, turkey. They came to national prominence a few years back when celebrity wanker self-publicist chef Jamie Oliver criticised them as being typical of the unhealthy food served to children as school dinners.

Poor old turkies, eh. First they get Christmas, then they get Jamie Oliver. What have they done to deserve that?

I'll bet that Nigel Farage has it in for them as well, and probably makes it worse by pretending he eats them every mealtime or the like.

And we think we've got problems! I dunno.

Ronaldo's diving reputation cost him a penalty tonight. He was totally splatted by a Rayo defender and the Ref booked Ron for diving.

I've never given my children Turkey Twizzlers (I don't know what they are) but I'm going to every day from now until Liverpool give us the hammering we richly deserve. That will teach them something or other and it will be all Villa's fault.

That was an outrageous decision!

Blackburn was our best shot at actually getting to the final. That chance now seems far less likely.
Why? Clearly you think Liverpool are much much better than us so why would we have a better chance against a team who had beaten almighty Liverpool?

Maybe Blackburn was our best shot at getting to the final as they are a mid table championship side while Liverpool are a top six Premier league side. Seems logical to me that Liverpool with the better players will be a lot harder to beat

Well yes, precisely as pooligan says.

There is no mystery about this. We have a more expensive team than Blackburn and so our chances of beating them are better than our chances of beating Liverpool who have a more expensive team than us.

If Blackburn had defied the odds and beaten Liverpool then they don't miraculously become a more expensive team, we would still have had a better chance of beating them than Liverpool.

It seems pretty straightforward. Our odds of reaching the final just went down (I assume the bookies have reflected this). That doesn't mean they are zero, that doesn't mean I don't want us to get there, it is just less likely and thats a shame, thats all.

It's an FA Cup semi final, it doesn't matter who you play, you have a great chance of making the final. Top 6 Aston Villa huffed and puffed their way through against 2nd division Bolton. It's there for us to win if we believe.

The pressure will be on Liverpool, Gerrard and Rodgers. Compared to a weekly battle against relegation this should be a bit of fun for us.

Yes, I don't think many people would disagree with that. But that's a long way from this sort of half-wittedness.

We won't make the final then.

I see we haven't sold out yet for the semi, maybe people waiting for this result.

We will never beat Liverpool.

You are silhillvilla and I claim my £5.00.

No idea what you're on about, but can I presume you think we'll beat Liverpool? In which case, I'd like to admire your blind optimism, but find it too laughable.

What's laughable about it?

If you have to ask, your blind optimim is equally laughable. You can't honestly think we have any chance whatsoever.
