"Give it 5 years "??
A week is a long time in football!
5 years is off the scale

Given that I was making a generic point using three Football League grounds picked semi-randomly, that point doesn't particularly matter.

Had I said, "in five years Bristol City will definitely have been promoted" you'd have had a point but as I didn't post anything like that, you don't. As usual.

We are no different to any other set of fans. For a big game, or when things are going well, we are noisy. When things are shit, we aren't. You hear fuck all from the Kop when they are losing as an example.

Not true.
You hear fuck all at OT when they are 1-0 up or 2-0 or 3-1 for example

Man U fans make a decent noise away for most games, and at home when the opposition is Liverpool or a big European team. They don't get excited by playing us any more than we get thrilled at the prospect of Southampton at home. We still make plenty of noise for big games, local derbies, crucial relegation battles, latter stages of cup competitions, etc. Palace are still new enough to the top flight to get excited by every Premier League game. Until the novelty wears off in a season or two, if they haven't gone down by then.

That group of fans making the noise in the corner at Palace are effectively just cheerleaders without pompoms, and have no interest in the football on the pitch. What will it be next in the create a false football atmosphere campaign, remove a few rows of seats for a stage so a boy band can sing some shite songs while the soft-headed around them clap along?

I don't think the atmosphere is simply down to the band in the corner. I go to a fair few of their games and I would say that most of the ground seems to be pretty noisy and happy to sing.

I think they are helped in the fact it is a smaller ground, and obviously last night was a night game and they were winning against one of the "top" teams".

As an aside, the Citeh fans were very quiet which I was pretty surprised about.

It's weird but Cit£h are one of a few teams who tend to be noisier at home than away.

first time I went to the Etihad was last season, it was the most soulless football ground iv'e been to
I didn't think anywhere could match Chelsea for that but they have managed it

I was flabbergasted with OT on Saturday.
Not once did the Stretford End sing. Not even. " Utd, Utd, Utd"

I actually thought Anfield was worse for daytrippers than Old Trafford when I went this season.

As for away fans, you could tell that most of the Bournemouth fans were on a day out and probably preferred "Rugger".

I'll say it again - I can never understand why we ever so hilariously say Manchester United fans are all from Surrey and even more rib-ticklingly wheel out the tired Scouse cliches for da Pool when every time both clubs turn up at Villa the Liverpudlian version have more out of towners than their northern neighbours.
