We're back to U2 being better than Paul Weller then as more people pay to watch them and buy their music. Earning the most money doesn't mean it's the best, just the most popular.

I think that sums it up. The bottom teams are capable of beating the top teams more so than the other major leagues and the action and goals are as good, if not better than any other nations top league. Also, arguably five teams started the season with a reasonable chance of winning the league. Which is probably more than any other major league. But Man City have never really stepped up to CL standard and Arsenal have always flattered to deceive at that level. Without a particularly strong United side Chelsea look our only hope at that level for the forseeable.

I've often wondered whether the Premier League being the most-watched and lucrative league in the world has anything to do with English being the most widely-spoken language.

Although in Ireland I ate in a Chinese restaurant owned, run and staffed entirely by the Irish. It was also as good a Chinese meal as I have ever eaten.

Atletico v Real is a tough one to call.

Atletico will be fired up after last years final and they have already done Real over 2 legs this season in the Copa del Rey.
