The 6/1 double on the two home teams in the CL tonight was too tempting for me. Also got a 34/1 acca on Bristol City, Preston, Sheff U, Scunthorpe and Swindon. Plus a mad 90/1 acca on 8 teams in the Championship. The last time I copped for a silly one with lots of selections paid about 125/1 this time four years ago. I remember because it was just before my daughters birthday so I was just the go between picking it up from William Hill and giving it to Toys R Us.

Had to amend my post (twice). I originally thought my 34/1 and 90/1 accas were only 17/1 and 45/1. Then I remembered I bottled it a bit and halved my stake. Now I can be twice as exited about twice the amount I probably won't win.

Totally gutted. Scunthorpe let me down on my 34/1 and I got 7 out of 8 on my 90/1. I had Brentford, Derby, Ipswich, Boro, Sheff Wed, Watford, Wolves and 'F***ing Reading' as they are known from now until another team lets me down for a big win.

Arsenal not beating Stoke away last season on a £2 7 fold did me for 27k, funnily enough I haven't done one since.

F**k me! My biggest 'miss out' on results accas have always been in the hundreds, although I did miss out on about three grand about fifteen years ago. I had a few quid on the winners of the four divisions, got three out of four right then my pick for the championship who let me down rubbed it in by winning the play off final.

Funny you mention 27k. When I managed a bookies I had a bloke put a 50p Lucky 15 on one day, just over £8 stake in the old days of betting tax. He only came in with his work mates (they were all working on the road outside) and wasn't a gambler. He copied the sort of bets they were putting on and picked out the names of four horses. One was his daughters name, one something like the road he grew up in, that sort of 'tactic'. Nice guy in his fifties. He came in the following day. The conversation went like this,

Me - "Do you know how much you've won"?
Him - "I never bet but the lads reckon I've won a couple of grand"
Me - "Try twenty seven grand"
Him - "That's nice. I can pay off my mortgage"
Me - "I can't pay you till tomorrow as due to the amount security have to check everything is above board. And then it will have to be by cheque"
Him - "I don't care. I've won nearly thirty grand. You can leave it till next week and pay me in pennies for all I care"!

So Matic ban gets reduced but Benteke's doesn't? How is Matic's retaliation less worthy of punishment that Benteke's?
They even have better lawyers than us😢

Well, if Villa instructed me, Ads or Hopadop that would change.
Oh fuck just realised that I may well have asked for an opinion from you three on this site. So ok to save my estate from being sued how much do I owe you?

Atftab, for a pie and a pint I can get Chinese hackers to destroy all evidence in Richard E, Ads and Hopadop's records. Throw in a Dairy Milk and I can get you pirate DVDs for any series you name.

If you're a fan of accas then split them over different days and times (easy to do these days as KO is all over the shop) so if you end up with say  5 or 6 winners out of 7 with a game to go you can lay (i.e. bet against) the final game(s) for some guaranteed money. Still keeps it low cost fun but with the potential to make some money if the acca is doing well.

Right. So after getting four out of five and seven out of eight last night I have gone for a modest 8/1 treble tonight of Arsenal, Athletico Madrid and Bournemouth. You can bet your life two of them out the three will win.

Arsenal losing, long range shot deflected in off Mertesacker. Joao Moutinho's playing well for them, I remember when he was linked with us. That would have been nice.

Giroud should have scored there but the delivery of the ball by Cazorla was simply sublime. We haven't anything close to that since Young

Oh dear 2-0 Monaco - Berbatov

what is incredible to watch with these sides is the confidence they all play with. Our players run around like shitting dogs looking to avoid the ball. Every player at this level, yesterday and today just look confident and composed.

Giroud is having a complete 'mare. Off course the bastard scored against us, but he just missed an open net from 2 yards out.

What a good pass to Berbatov - weight and timing - and a clinical finish.  Nice, that.

Leonardo Jardim is a very decent manager. I've watched all Monaco's game this season, and despite not actually having many really good players, he's got them overachieving. Mind you, the French league is pretty cack.
