The defenders back was too square then... too much of a tempting target for perennial pusher Fellaini to resist, no foul, play on.

Fellaini:there was a nudge but he got away with it.
Thanks Phil.

English players just aren't very good at winning penalties....look at Owen collapsing against Argentina in world cups 98 and 2002 although of course both were given aswell.

Didn't interfere with the keeper, other than the keeper seeing him, stopping to see if he made contact and then dived when it was clear Rooney was moving out of the way.  Just watch the keeper, anyone who thinks he's not reacting to to Rooney is blind, or Dowd.

Typical shit reffing, and Hodgson is an utter twat. Why do so few of them have the balls to say it was a blatant dive?

The only impartial one called it a dive, I guess there's small comforts in that.

When they talk about Fellaini's versatility do they mean his ability to get his afro on to long balls and crosses hoofed in his general direction?

Well it was such an unbiased view from Phil Neville and from the England Manager about a blatant dive from the England Captain.

And as for the argument of having to get out of the way otherwise his leg was broke, how come he didn't have to leap or do anything out of stride yet suddenly his back leg is dragging on the grass and he is down. Was it because the ball was too far forward for him to catch up with?

Rooney just did a good job...according to the new rule that there might be contact at some time in the future if the "defender" looks as if he might make contact but it all depends if the attacker dives or not. Apparently!
Rooney had already jumped over the keeper...he then decided to go down.
Dive.
Cheating.
But Woy and Neville think that's perfectly ok.

Just listening to that shit Neville & Woy, calling that a penalty. What a fucking disgrace, there's no contact but it's still a penalty! How does that work then? Intent, evasive action, what a complete load of shite. They should be ashamed to make comments like that.

Arsenal will knock them out, unless they get some more favours.

If that had happened twenty yards back then the gravity might not have be too strong and he might have been able to leap the player. Gravity in the area though is strong mind.

By this pundit 'logic' every attempted tackle in the area is a penalty.
