Watching the replay I don't think he was hindering the keeper's eye line.

''If Rooney doesn't touch it it really doesn't matter''

Keown you ugly plug from the Beano knob, learn the rules before you commentate

Offence

A player in an offside position is only penalised if, at the moment the ball touches or is played by one of his team, he is, in the opinion of the referee, involved in active play by:
•interfering with play or
•interfering with an opponent or
•gaining an advantage by being in that position

Red shite ball sucker, it was another in the long list of dodgy goals to get them back in to games.

And now a "foul" and yellow card after Young leaps on top of a Preston player. As expected the Preston player gets the yellow not Young.

I fucking hate ManU and the way refs give them everything.

Twats.

Watching the replay I don't think he was hindering the keeper's eye line.

But the keeper would have had half an eye on Rooney right in front of him as the shot came in, so surely by definition he has interfered with the play?

He wasn't blocking the view, and he did actually move out the way so he wasn't touching it. However the ball going within an inch would have put the keeper off from trying to make the save as he would have expected something so should be offside still. Stupid rule.

Di Maria is an odd looking chap.
Looks like you could bump into him in a bar down the docks, with knowledge of a map leading to Inca gold.

Di Maria reminds me of Raymond from Everybody Loves Raymond.

For me that is offside but these days they tend to allow them. Personally I am of the Bill Shankly school of thought when it comes to offside. If he isn't interfering with play what is he doing on the pitch. Particularly when 'he' is stood in front of the keeper.

That was a boarderline call, but I have to be honest and say the ref was right to give the goal.  Would be good for Preston to hold on for a draw at least give LVG an extra game to moarn about ;)

To be honest, with them having Arsenal in the next round, I don't really care who wins this one.

Balanced out now, Davies should be off for that. Yet more incredible reffing from Dowd.
