If Louis van Gaal had replaced Ferguson instead of Moyes he would be gone already I reckon.

They look a rabble despite all the money they have spent. For a finish today they brought on Fellaini and went route one for a result away to West Ham.

Rooney playing in midfield is an absolute farce while Van Persie and Falcao are done up front.

Could not agree more.....They have paid over £50m for 2 quality midfielders in Mata and Herrera yet is playing Shrek in midfield

Dont forget Fellaini, he was near on 30m. Thats 80m sat on the bench watching Rooney's admiring his own sand wedge flop shots back to his full backs.

Think they must have got stung on some minimum appearance clause for Falcao too.

Second year without CL football looks very likely as Spurs, Arsenal and even Liverpool look as they will finish strongly. Another summer of reckless overspending on players looks certain at Old Trafford and they will be sending plenty to the exit door even if LVG remains in charge. Obviously our man Cleverley and Falcao will be off this summer but the following only have a year left on their current deals (De Gea, Lindegaard, Jones, Evans, Smalling, Young, Rafael, Hernandez, Van Persie, Powell, Lindegaard). You would have to assume that any reasonable offer and the likes of Nani, Valencia, Fellaini, Mata and Herrera will be pushed out.

If we survive this term, wouldnt mind picking up Rafael, Evans and Hernandez for cheap in the summer. Three important players in their league win only two years ago but have lost their way badly since. Ferguson bought badly at the end of his reign it must be said too.

Quote
Hearts coach Robbie Neilson has blasted the horror tackle from Jason Talbot that left Sam Nicholson with stitches in his face.

Livingston defender Talbot's high-footed challenge caught the midfielder in the face to leave him in need of extensive treatment, and Neilson was furious with the incident.

The Hearts boss conceded that his player was "not in great condition" before claiming that Talbot's tackle overstepped the mark.

Neilson said: "Sam's not in great condition. He'll be fine in a few days but the boy has puncture marks all over his face.

"I didn't think it was a great tackle, you get rough play at this level and sometimes players can go over the line.

"I have told the referee exactly how I feel about it. All the games we play now are going to be really tough.

"They'll be tight and tense until the end of the season, as we try to get ourselves over the line.

"Teams are desperate for points and will change the way they play because they're running out of time.

"The majority of games will turn into a battle and we need to show character and strength. We didn't play great football, but the three points will prove crucial, I'm sure."

FA Cup Saturday. West Ham to beat Albion, Stoke to beat Blackburn, Derby to beat Reading and Liverpool to beat Palace pays 25/1. That has to be worth a fiver.

Side note, but I see Hamburg are confirming my theory that they're the Villa of the Bundesliga by only scoring 14 so far this season. Go them.

Good point, my mistake. It was sunny but freezing today. I liked Burley's kit though, claret and blue.

My mate's lad plays for them. He goes to every game to cheer on the Claret & Blues - he's a Nose.

There were plenty of 'well played purples, mauves, pinks, reds' from some of our parents in an effort to wind me up. Top bantz.

I had to laugh when I saw a photo of the claret & blue Burley Tojans playing Leeds Boys in their blue and white Rags kit. Poor mate must have been really confused.

He was confused? I had to cheer on a team in blue and white against claret and blue, I reckon that's why my son had his least effective match in a while, he found it tough.

Look like this Spurs-Liverpool match is going to be a cracker.  Two early goals, a lively game, and plenty on it.

I tend to think that Arsenal will get at least 4th without much trouble, but then its just a case of who gets the other spot.  Between Utd and Liverpool for me.  Spurs are impressing me, but I expect them to have another dip post-cup final.  I don't think they are strong enough to finish 4th, but they are certainly giving it a good go right now.

Does Jordan Henderson have some kind of medical condition that causes him to move like a badly operated Thunderbird puppet?

Supposedly the reason that Fergie didn't buy him...

Does Jordan Henderson have some kind of medical condition that causes him to move like a badly operated Thunderbird puppet?

Supposedly the reason that Fergie didn't buy him...

From an old Grauniad article

Henderson had grown up in a sporting environment. His father, Peter, played football for Durham police and his mother, Liz, was a fitness instructor. The young Henderson did not just excel at football but also at badminton and table tennis. At 16, however, he suffered a medical condition that left him wondering whether he would make it as a footballer. "It was Osgood-Schlatters. It wasn't good. It's a growing pains thing and I had to have a lot of treatment on it. I just shot up immediately and didn't have any kind of physique to deal with it physically.

"I was tall, all arms and legs, and a bit gangly. I'd been at Sunderland since I was seven but I was getting bad knees and stuff and I think they were unsure of what to do, whether to keep me or let me go. That was a really nervous time for me. Towards the end of that season I started to pick up a bit and started to fill out. They decided to stick with me, thankfully. But it did hold me back for a good while."
