It's one of many many measures as to how far our stock has fallen that we can't even find any reasons to slag Allardyce off any more. Along without being able to criticise Stoke's style of play

If Allardyce was our manager, we'd probably get the one from all the years of his previous managerial career. In fairness, I have only really seen West Ham the once this season and that was against us, where they didn't create anything until the last five minutes when they went back to hoofing it.

That said, it was around about this time last season that Allardyce had them down towards the bottom and in danager of getting himself sacked. They came from a goal behind I think to beat Cardiff and he put a run together. He was backed in the summer and has them doing well.

They're not a great side by any means and how well West Ham are doing probably says a good deal about the overall lack of quality in the Premier League, but they have one or two creative outlets and its made a hell of a difference.

Indeed Ads, it is one of many, many frustratations that the league is so poor - witness West Ham as you say - and it really takes only a couple or three players and/or results to have you up there in and around sixth to eighth. It could all be so different with a manager who could reinvigorate the team and get them playing the right way. The solution is so simple which just makes the whole thing worse

I know we aren't in the best if places at the moment but if you ever want a reason not to have bought in Pulis it has been demonstrated in the first half hour at Goodison.  Turgid dogged anti football from Smethwick.  I can't see the worlds most football knowledgable fans putting up with that for long.

Have Everton turned into us?

Everton

Everton are without a win in their last seven games in all competitions (L5, D2).

They have only won one of their last 12 matches in all competitions, failing to record a single clean sheet.

Everton have only won three of their 10 home league games this season (D4, L3) - they had only lost one at the same stage last season (W6, D3).

They have conceded 34 league goals already this season after only letting in 39 in the whole of 2013-14 season.

It's weird, yet no-one has said a word about them.
