BT Sport is awful. Watching Sunderland - Liverpool, they randomly have a little square in the corner showing Gerrard on the bench. Why?

Sounds like Liverpool have another referee playing as a twelfth man . By all accounts they should have had a red as well as Sunderland

And three former "Spice Boys" as pundits.  You may as well subscribe to Liverpool TV.  I thought/hoped BT would bring a fresh new approach to football coverage...they are a huge disappointment.

No they played for it by hammering the ball straight at him as he walked away but I don't think the Sunderland one was right either.

Watching Newcastle v Chelsea here in Asia as no Villa game on. Newcastle have battered Chelski in first half. Somehow behind 1-0 at the break. Cahill and Courtois dropped but their replacements Cech and Zouma have looked well dodgy. Newcastle have exploited Fabregas' lack of work rate brilliantly at times to get at Terry. Sissokho has been outstanding but should have given them the lead. They have nothing up front without Cisse.

Chelsea have looked very weary since before Xmas I reckon. Oscar, goal aside, Willian, Fabregas, Matic all running on empty again today while Terry has been left exposed to 2010 World Cup levels again. Wonder if Mourinho's failure to rotate the squad early in the season will come back to bite them. Aspilicueta (sic) off injured but Luis hardly weakens them. City with Bony coming in will finish a lot stronger I reckon.

What's the betting Pardew gets Palace out of trouble, starting with a win today.

Bannan not having a good game so far. He seems to run away from places where he can receive the ball.

To his credit, he clearly learned what Villa coaches taught him then.

They also have a little square in the corner showing the ref's position when blowing up which often obscures a crucial part of the replay of the actual incident.

I think he had a few decent games for us. Played very well against Liverpool if I recall. Today though (so far anyway) he just looks scared and hoping that if he puts a running shift in but doesn't actually get caught with the ball he will get by.
