People: Wiltshire is a county in England, Wilshire is a boulevard in Los Angeles, Willshire isn't anything famous and WILSHERE is an Arsenal and England footballer.

I like the old cheer up song. Pity Franics doesn't still manage SHA.

Gary Rowett scans a lot better than Lee-ee Clarke at least.

Charlton 49 Lineker 48 Rooney 46.

Is that the age of the women they shag?

Of course not. Favourite Chinese main course, obvs.

So the jocks come up short in their up final again.  Decent finish to the same, but very easy win for England

If anyone is still watching I'm with Souness there, redknapp and carragher both saying you can never drop Rooney and he called bollocks on it, good man.  The insistence in picking players regardless of shape and form is one of the reasons that we haven't looked in with a chance of winning anything for years.

So what have we learnt?
England very good at beating pretty limited sides.
Flat track bullies.
When do we beat decent teams in competitive matches?

Pretty much that.

Woy was a good appointment for getting the most out of what we have got.  Not to be sneezed at.

To get beyond this, there will need to be structural changes which the biggest power our game, the PL, would oppose.

From Joe.ie

Quote
Ciaran Clark - Another steady performance at the back. The Aston Villa man showed his quality on the ball and got stuck in as well. A decent shift. 7

England fans singing "Fuck the IRA" during the match apparently. It's a long way back down the Gallowgate to the city centre, chaps.

Bunch of divs. No need for it.

This comment in The Guardian made me smile.

“Neither manager will have learned much this evening, although as Barney Ronay has pointed out, some of England’s younger players will have learned what it’s like to play in front of a drunk morons chanting about the IRA to the accompaniment of a very annoying band.

Quite what use such an experience will have been to any of them is a mystery, although it would probably have been easier to send them to a Wolfe Tones gig.”
