Glad Fab's off and not injured.

But would rather see the underperforming Rooney, Welbeck, Lallana, Henderson or Wishere off instead.

Watch 3 of those score now!
One down...

I'd love to see Woy have the minerals to take Rooney off.

And he was about to.

Can't believe Rooney is only one goal away from Greave's record. He's always let us down in the big tournaments.

Fingers crossed! Nothing major, though. Just enough to keep them out next weekend.

That's just the age we live in in all sports. How many players have scored more hundreds than Don Bradman now? But if you look closer at their stats you'll find that they've all played at least 2.5 times as many tests. The same goes in football - Rooney plays every game of the international calender, meaning getting 100 caps is a trivial matter for him. It's different times: more games, better fitness to play them all, exaggerated statistics.

Greaves did it in 57 appearances, and i'd imagine not too many were against the likes of San Marino.

As was that.

Well it's a win, but jeeze that was uninspiring against a poor side that had 10 men for so long.

Three against Luxembourg, ten goals across three thrashings of Northern Ireland, three against Scotland in a 9-3 win, three more in a 6-1 win against Norway.

I reckon that there were comparatively more hammerings of weak teams during that era rather than fewer.
