Milner has not played for his club so it's only right that he should not start for England.
Why?
If he's the best English player for his position he should still start.
Oh ok he should start for England so that he can get match fit for his club team!  Players who can not get a game with heir club teams should move if they are committed footballers and play week in week out somewhere else. He may be the best in that position but no one has seen him play this season.

Milner came on with Delph on Wednesday. Delph looked lively, Milner played a ball out to the wing under no pressure and there wasn't an England player within 20 yards. And when Lambert came on for a corner, Jimmy played a short corner that actually went wide of the player he was aiming for and sent them on an attack. So in current company, he will definitely fit in but he is no longer the player we were used to.

Luxembourg winning. And Spain only 2-1 up at home to mighty Macedonia.

Hmm, didn't see the game last week and don't watch much of Man City either.  I guess that being a sub behind the likes of Henderson and Wilshere is the price he pays for the money he earns so to speak.

I think Wilshere is a composite made up by the London Press using old bits of Gerry Francis  with a punch of Alan Devonshire.    Both who were over rated
(The above post only understood by older readers!!)

Probably a few bits of Trevor Brooking, Glenn Hoddle and "Butch" Wilkins in there, too.

Plus side is that because both sides are a bit shit it makes the game worth watching as i'm just waiting for a comedy fuck up from someone.

Much better than number 9 ranked team in the world. Should be 3-0 up.

3-1 unless we're ignoring the Hart save.

Alan Devonshire used to get picked for England ahead of Sid; something I still can't understand to this day.

OptaJoe: 100% - Fabian Delph completed all 26 of his passes in the first half vs Switzerland.

Good save but that should have been a net buster.

And there is more chance of me playing CM for England than there is Milner.

Seemingly.  But why?  Did we just see an oddly purple patch or remember his time in our centre mid with claret and blue specs on or something?

Why did cit£h buy him? It was on the back of that purple patch when he played in the feckin middle. To the rest of the world, he will forever be a competent right-sided player, nothing more.

I actually think Baines gets away with a lot of criticism as well, defensively he is woeful.

I am ignoring that save and also the Jones header as goalkeepers are there for a reason.  It's the 3 easy chances wasted by England.

Did Tyldesley just say 'Jones has had a tidy night overall'? Really!?
