Delph didn't put a foot wrong.

Is the stupid Baggies twat playing Delph on the wing?

It looks more llke a diamond, with Henderson, Milner, Delph, Sterling.

Looked far better when they switched to that formation.  Delph did well when he came on and added a bit of much needed energy.  Sterling played  well in the "number 10" position and looked a threat in the more central position.  Rooney was largely anonymous throughout and although he had a few poor touches, Welbeck caused them more problems.  The changes that are needed are obvious, but I don't know if Hodgson has the imagination or nerve to enforce them.

Back to Villa and that midfield diamond is exactly the formation I'd like to see us employ, especially at home.  I'd love to see Grealish given a go in the attacking position in a midfield of:

                               Westwood / Sanchez

                   Cleverley                            Delph

                                      Grealish

Why wasn't this game played at a club ground?

Why wasn't this game played at a club ground?
Because there is still a £798m bill to pay for the construction of Wembley Stadium.

Will tonight's attendance even pay the electric bill?

Adrian Bevington (i'm not sure what his role is on the F.A) has said that Wembley needs to paid for and it will continue to be used for the next 8-9 years. What a ridiculous situation.

it really is. And with England as inspiring as waking up every morning to the realization you follow the Baggies, you can see many more nights where they don't sell out.

Apart from Delph getting a run out I didn't care about last nights game (don't think England friendlies have served a purpose since El Tel's reign), and was at the cinema anyway.  Will watch the quailfier next week.

Roy Hodgson has come out and said he doesn't expect large crowds for the qualifiers given the opposition in our group.

nothing to do with us being absolutely less than average, and using the same venue all the time.

the Wembley debacle is a disgrace, it actually cost £900 million, the builder went bust and many people did not get paid.
Ken Bates was heavily involved.

If Hodgson was not the John Major of football management, more people might be interested, but he is just as big a suck up to the big names as ever. Most other nations would have Shawcross in the squad for example, but no, an 18 year old who has played 3 games at centre half gets picked because he plays for Arsenal.
