Villa beat Everton 6-2, having been 6-0 up. A Sunday, it was. Platt and McGrath played. Bonfire Sunday in November 1989.

I remember it well. Didn't Platt get named in the England squad a day or so later?

Someones posted the whole thing here which saves me converting my video!

Yes!  I've seen this video before.  What a great Villa side that was.  If only SGT hadn't gone at the end of the season.............

Villa beat Everton 6-2, having been 6-0 up. A Sunday, it was. Platt and McGrath played. A Sunday in November 1990. Without checking details.

One of my favourite ever games. Back in the days when there wasn't much football on and we were live on The Big Match or whatever it was called. The build up was all about what a threat Mike Newell was. Ian Ormindroyds best game for us.

Yes, I had to drive to Bournemouth for a poxy company conference the next day, so I went early and managed to see the whole match, in disbelief, in a crap hotel room.

We left Brum in 1986 and November 1989 was my first trip home.  I took my lad to this match and, only found out when we got back to my mom's that my daughter was upset because I didn't take her.  I had no idea she had any interest in football, not only does she like football, she loves the Villa.

I listened to on the radio in the kitchen of the house we were renting in Torquay at the time, having moved in that day

Everton have conceded 10 in their first 3 games. Martinez has forgotten about defence just as he did at Wigan.

An irate evertonian just rang 606 demanding that "Bobby Martinez" must drop Jagielka. His voice was quivering and he wasn't calm. Full meltdown mode. Funny.

I'd like it if Everton became the sort of side that lost 4-3 every week.

I was visiting the parents of a new girlfriend and had to maintain an expected level of decorum as I was watching it unfold on the goggle box in the corner of their room. Not sure I managed it to be fair.

One of my favourite memories of the 6-2 was a far from packed Holte End asking Keown for the score.
