Yes! TNS v Slovan Bratislava isn't blacked out in the USA - thank you Radio Wales.

Clyde 2 Ayr 0 in the Challenge Cup. Hearts beating Annan 2-0. Rangers play Hibs a week on Tuesday, can't play today due to egg-chasing sevens at Ibrox.

I look forward to seeing the aggregate attendances in that division with Rangers, Hearts and Hibs compared to the previous best. Unless there is some 'Thousands in the ground and even more locked out' season from the days when the world was in black and white.

I think they used to get stupid attendances back in the day. Even Clyde had 52,000 turn up once.

I presume that was a personal appearance by Clyde the orangutan from the Clint Eastwood films as opposed to the football team?

Don't worry about it. We are Villa fans. 52,000 of us turned up for a match against Southampton in 1986 where the official attendance was about 8,500. That was creative accounting even by Doug's standards.

watching Man U vs Roma in a friendly. 3-0 just before HT. They are going to be very strong this season and especially without any european football to stretch them.

Every year from 1946 until 1969 30,000 watched Stourbridge v Dudley Town on Boxing Day and the return on Easter Monday.

English season starts before the Italian one. I remember us playing Inter off the park at VP. I reckon Man U will be better than last year but fourth at the very best.

4th? With all the money they still have left to spend.

It won't shock me to see them make a proper title challenge. Liverpool came close last season without the interference of europe, and with the types of player Man U will attract they won't be far off.

Finished 3-2, with Miralem Pjanic doing this:

Inspired by training with the Denver Broncos field goal kicker, apparently.
