Nick Owen: Sir Doug a lot of people say you have a big ego. How did you manage to keep it out of the way of running Aston Villa?
HDE: Well Nick I've known you for many years and just let me say you're like a son to me. I invented the package holiday don't you know. And let me say right here I never interfered in the running of Aston Villa.
Nick Owen: What was your best moment during your time at Villa Park?
HDE: That's easy, it was the day Randy Lerner transferred sixty million pounds into my bank account.

Should be worth a laugh.  Is this when Doug announces his shock return to Villa Park? :-X

Ooh it's at the Garrick in Lichfield. Can't decide between that and this, though.

I'd go for the Fabricant one and ask him why he thinks it's ok to threaten to punch a woman on twitter.

When I first heard his name and saw his appearance my initial response was he was another Alan B'stard type comedy piss take character.

Hearing some of his utterances since then, I'm still not convinced I wasn't right.

Spotted a slight error:
"building a stadium that is the envy of all the local rivals",

should read:
"building a stadium by hand, his own hands, that is the envy of all the local rivals".

"building a stadium that is the envy of all the local rivals"

This statement really sums up Doug Ellis's mindset and perception of success to a tee.   Dear Lord.

Strange, but I will forever associate Ellis with demolishing a stadium that was the envy of the football world, not building one.

The Witton Lane stand is an improvement on what we had.  The Holte had to be demolished and is still a very impressive stand.  The Trinity he fucked up monumentally, but compared to other carbuncles is not bad.

The Trinity is fine inside the ground, it's just the outside is a bit of a dog's dinner, especially compared to what was there previously.

Doug is and always has been in it for Doug. if you get to speak to him, ask him about buying and selling shares, trust me it will be insightful, to you. arrogant egotistic kind of chap.
