I remember him because he was actually a decent player but we bought him too late. He scored a cracker of a volley at home v Fulham late 2002 and a good goal away at W Ham that same season in a 2-2 draw(Enckelman's best game for us in my humble).

Alan Thompson(though I was overjoyed at 16 years of age when we signed him. Went to his home debut when he missed a penalty against Boro, but smashed in a free kick later on in that game..had a disappointing career at Villa)

They did a program on his career while he was successful at Celtic, and there was no mention of us whatsoever.

Barry Lynch

For some reason and, maybe this is only just me but, Barry Lynch seemed to me to be a particular favourite of Tommy Doc he continued to pick him.  Lynch could best be described as a trier but should never have been anywhere near the first team, as bad as they were.

Chaps i think you may be getting confused with someone else here, Barry only played 3 times for us, his debut was in a game at Cardiff 0-3 Boxing day 1967 under Tommy Cummings then the following season under Docherty he played in the away game at Hull,last game of the season 0-1. Then his final game for us was an FA Cup 3rd replay at Charlton under Docherty shortly before he was sacked and replaced by Vic Crowe. At the time i had a special interest in Barry Lynch as he was a local to me coming from Northfield.

Yeah, he played for Cross Castle United who were formed by the merger of Allens Cross and Castle Rovers and are now Northfield Town. His parents went to the same church as mine.

Gustavo Bartelt - arrived on-loan from Roma mid-season 99/00 I think. Might have made a cursory sub appearance. Things went sour when he turned-up for training wearing sunglasses much to Gregory's chagrin. He just didn't understand that it's common for Italians/Argo-Italians to wear shades no matter how shit the weather is be it Sorrento or Sutton Coldfield.
