Baker is an absolute disaster. How on earth he gets a game every week is beyond me. I'd put Clark in next week against Hull because the idea of Baker stumbling all over Shane Long every 5 minutes is making my blood run cold. Do him and us a favour and drop the bloke. Please.

This leaves me totally perplexed. I'm not a big fan of Clark's, but I actually thought that at the back end of last season and the start of this one, he'd improved quite a lot and looked far more assured alongside Vlaar. I don't understand what he's done to deserve being benched and have the walking disaster zone that is Baker played ahead of him.

Agreed. I'd rather have Clark doing his Cruyff turn on the edge of our box than Baker doing his Wrestlemania moves at every opportunity.

Think Baker needs to be taken out of the firing line for his own good.

Will wait to watch MOTD before commenting on the performance (was at another match yesterday).  But the fact that we got it back to 1-1 and couldn't at least hold it to a draw, and ended up getting hammered by a Swansea side with little to play for and who have hardly been pulling up any trees at home this season does not fill me with confidence.

This is the result which brings our state of affairs into focus.  Win next week then we are safe, lose or draw then its an up hill struggle.

After yesterday, yes. There was some chap next to us who was giving him grief when he didn't even have the ball.

As long as it's not our forwards doing the firing?

Baker's never looked good enough, he's just hidden that fact well with fan-loving sliding tackles.

I think Clark could make it as a Premier League player, I just think he's a massive confidence player, something we're in short supply of at the moment. He's got to play against Hull though - the thought of Baker trying to deal with the movement of Jelavic and Long is giving me nightmares!

If you were down near the front in row C that was probably me!! I had had lots to drink though my frustration with Baker was shared by many around me.

Totally agree.  He seems to make terrible decisions in pretty much every game.  Last week against Southampton he ducked and let a cross go in his own box when there was an opposition player right behind him, which could have easily cost us a point.

At long last I agree with many others. Baker may have the height and is physically brave but has had enough chances to prove himself and has failed. It is not his fault that Lambert picks him and obviously he gives of his best when he plays which is often. Unfortunately his best is nowhere near good enough.

In reality Liam Ridgewell was more competent as a central defender. That is how poor Baker is.

In fairness to Baker, he's a young lad learning his trade at PL level and being offered very little support or protection from the midfield or full backs. Yes he's making mistakes aswell but he's really not getting many favours from those around him.

It's not the making of a mistake that's the problem, it's the fact he consistently repeats his mistakes. He's simply not good enough and shouldn't be anywhere near a Premier League team.
