The problem I have in dealing with the Villa is that when we have a shit result, I want to shut myself away. It makes it worse and I hadn't realised. Today a friend dropped by just after the final whistle and, much as I wanted to shout at him to fuck off, I couldn't, so I made him a cup of tea and we had a conversation. It really helped.

Giggsy's Red Devils getting a result at The Theatre of Dreams in front of the United Faithful really helped too.

Not long in. That was another - yet another - abject load of bollocks. Conditions cannot excuse the performance - they passed the ball, to feet and used the ball as best they could. We can't string 3 passes together, and if we find ourselves within sight if goal, turn round and play it back.

The players have given up, and for anyone wearing the Villa shirt, that is unacceptable. Shame on every one if those players and the manager. A disgrace.

That was a pile of shite today.  As bad as it gets - I hope.  In the Red Lion now and about to start my second double G&T.  Wonder how many it will take to dull the pain and anger.

Good day though, despite the football.

What killed us today was that we had so many individually poor performances.

Bacuna, Gabby, Weiman,Baker were the worst

Delph, Guzan Vlaar were not great and Holt when he came on was Stainrodesque.

Only Westwood Albrighton played OK.

Having a couple playing badly is one thing but we had nearly a complete team in a very big game no where near good enough.

This is the same as it always is.   The disgrace of flopping in a twitching heap over the line to safety is just as demeaning as relegation.   The damage is done.   We can never get that season back. It is there in all its infamy in the big book of Aston Villa for all to see.   If we win all our remaining games five nil the club has been exposed as a stumbling, muddling, uncoordinated, mismanaged mess.   Staying in the premiership by the skin of our teeth will not expunge the fact that allegedly the coaches were mistreating the players under the nose of the manager and he did nothing to stop it. And that is only one little bit of the swamp which is Aston Villa which has come to light.   I want my grandchildren to be proud of being Villa fans not embarrassed.   Only the fans understand feelings of that importance.   To all the rest, even the players it is just about money.

...and another thing. Weimann must not start next week. So far off form it's untrue.

Something has to be done. I've been a season tkt holder for 20 years and tonight is the first time I've ever registered for a forum because I'm so upset & angry. We need to march on this.  >:(

Sorry it took this for you to come here mate - welcome

Afraid marching will be decried as "small time" -  we have to support them for 90 minutes as best we can ( we are never good enough at it) and then slink off home...

It wasn't just Vlaar that came
Over to us at the end, Alby, Baker and one or two others did as well and got told to fuck off and waved away by quite a few fans. A few clapped, myself included. Saddens me to see anyone in the claret and blue get abused like that, anger should be directed at Lambert and Lerner.

I was at the game. It was pockets of fans singing Lambert out etc so not by all means everyone. Most where just resigned to another performance of utter shite.
I can't make my mind up about Lambert. He's been asked to do a job on a budget and I feel a bit sorry for him in that respect. But then you see him playing Weimann out of position all season and his inability to coach corners at either end of the pitch makes you wonder how he has got away with being a coach for so long.

We will stay up though I think but something has to be done for next season or we will struggle to get above 25 points with this team. Oh and we've been unlucky with injuries.... Okere only has to be 5% better than Clark or Baker for us to be above 40 points by now.

if we had signed even Scott Dann in Jan we would probably be safe now. Not to mind Michael Dawson or Lescott on loan.

To be honest bad and all that Clark is he is still a division better than Baker.

Welcome mossy.   You brought your pain to the right place.   Marching was for Doug and DOL.  Bolton was for TSM.   This cabal of incompetents deserve one thing and one thing only.   Mass contempt.   An empty stadium and the silent treatment is all they will understand.   They are not football men you see.   They do not understand football stuff.

Agree, it's not the players fault, certainly not the likes of Albs or Baker. They try hard but simply aren't PL level. Vlaar and KEA were bought from abroad as gambles and they are not PL quality. The likes of Westwood Lowton Bennett etc are just League 1 players having a go . Not their fault they have been dropped into the deep end of the pool

Yet another black mark against Lerner, and to a certain extent Lambert. The players are the fall guys in all this, and many of them are lambs to the slaughter.
