Yeah and you'd do that with magic money produced from a magic lamp, seeing as you're happy to write off money when a kit supplier can be arsed to do what they're supposed to and actually supply kit.

The club have been writing off money left right and centre for the last 4 years. Has that passed you by?

So your solution is to write off more? To have a kit come out once the Summer has finished so virtually nobody actually buys it?

You keep on about how we should act like a "grand club". If Real Madrid had a kit supplier that still hadn't supplied the kit, months after the deadline, costing them a fortune in the process, do you think that they'd:

(a) Look for a different supplier, probably one that gave them more money while they're at it (let's not forget that Macron give us more money than any supplier in our history)

(b) Just stick with the useless bastards, regardless, because "Di Stefano's Heroes", a misery-arse contributor to the Héroes y Villanos website, only likes clothes with a swoosh on them?

We went from Nike right down to Macron without stopping at Umbro, Adidas, Puma, Diadora or the many other better kit supplier out there. Why? We went from the best to the worst in one leap. It sums up the last 4 years under Lerner.
If you think I'm a "misery arse", fair enough, but I'm realistic unlike many on here. I saw our decline right from the off 4 seasons ago while others on here (not naming names) were dancing with delight at the latest "young and hungry" style bullshit from Lerner and co.
It pays to be a cynic you know.

What's the kit got to do with how good the team are? Nobody is particularly pleased with the club's performances but I fail to see what that's got to do with the outfit. You moan about a lack of investment then say you would happily write off loads of money. Surely you can at least admit that Nike let Villa down badly, would that hurt?

Specifically with this shirt, you'd clearly decided you didn't like it before it came out. In fact, I remember you whinging on before even last year's kit had come out so you're as open-minded as a UKIP voter trapped in a room with nothing but back-copies of the Daily Mail.

If Nike are, as you say, "the best" why did they fuck up so badly?

Yes, Liverpool went from Adidas to Warrior without stopping at Macron. A song was recorded. Many candles were lit.

Bloody hell you lot grow up for f##ks sake, the thread is about the kit not the squad, the manager or the chairman or anyone else. Nike well and truly shafted us with regurgitated French league kits, they never really chipped in much before Christmas with our kits all well and good for us with kids who want to spend £50 on a shirt with a shelf life of 5 or 6 months, and to say that they produced better quality unique kits that's just bullshit. They have just got QPR as a new contract and have produced something stock out of a teamwear catologue and have proudly told the world and it's mother about it, their high profile teams Barca and Man U to name a few have been presented with complete tosh. As far as I'm concerned the club did the right thing at the time and took the most money on offer, I do like this years strip and also thought that last seasons away was nice and different as they should be in my opinion and your comment about Diadorra being better well I stopped taking anything after that serious at all, the shirt was sodding purple. Macron do a decent job and take us as a club serious and don't just plonk generic teamwear shite on us and give us something different. Maybe if we went back to Henson you would be happy and positive.
Rant over but some people on here at the moment are doing my chuff in moan, moan, moan just for the sake of it it would seem no wonder people are moving across to TBAR.

I think you're probably right about our 'brand decline'.  Early in the Lerner / Nike 'We Start Today' campaign I remember seeing our kits in the Nike superstore on Oxford St., alongside and as prominent as Arsenal and Barcelona.  They must have bought into whatever we were selling and thought we were worth the prime floorspace.  As sad as I am, I went in to have a look - it was all a bit exciting.

A couple of years later and they can't be arsed getting a decent quality kit out anywhere near on time.  I assume they didn't get to be the brand they are by pissing off valuable assets,  so at some point they decided we weren't one.  It was almost as if they wanted shot of us.

So I'd agree it's hard not to see Macron as yet another sign of our decline,  as if we needed one.

As to the kit it's ok - better than last year's.  But that sponsor makes a hell of a mess.

Really? So being viewed by every other poster on here as an annoying wind up merchant pays does it?

I'd prefer to be remembered for the odd post that makes some sense to be honest rather than a misery arse who everyone now ignores.

Still your life.....

Dave I'm sorry if it came across that way I don't post all the time just because I don't feel the need I enjoy my reads on a daily basis, infact after checking my emails at 5 every morning it's the first place I visit. I was not slagging you off I in general enjoy your posts, it was mainly aimed at the comments that have been rolling on all day that has really nothing to do with the kit launch and was getting just spiteful and childish ( in my opinion) which living in a democratic country I am entitled to have. The comment about the other site was just that a comment I also if your using that as your yardstick mentioned Macron, nike and Diadorra .
I think what I was trying to say was that the bickering had no place on a thread about the new kit, I was not slagging you off and I hope you now see that but surely you as an admin can see that the comments above mine had drifted off topic.
I was also unaware that you had to make a set number of posts per calender month or day to be allowed to comment, if you look back at my membership it has been for a few years and my poss have been few and far between but this doesn't mean I am not entitled to comment when something just ticks me off or the club means any less to me than a person who has posted a trillion times.

Oh and if you read the last bit I in no way praised the other site. I do object to you implying I was doing that in anyway.

We, kind of, like the bickering though... or is it just me? It passes the time till the football season comes around again and the real moaning can get underway!

Yes, Liverpool went from Adidas to Warrior without stopping at Macron. A song was recorded. Many candles were lit.

But they didn't go to Macron, which I've said many times it the cheapest tackiest excuse of a kit supplier in football. Oh and they didn't sell most of their best players either. In my opinion moving to Macron was part of Lerner's ongoing downgrading of the club and lowering of the expectations of the fans.
They may have worked their wonders on you, TV, but it didn't with me. It took you a long long time to realise the Villa didn't have genius plan with the "young and hungry" bullshit. In fact I think it was only relatively recently that you realised you fell for it lock stock and barrel.
