Another awful cheap and tacky Macron effort.

Another moany post.

In fairness Lee, the club have let us down again by not insisting on the use of gold thread and the finest silk, hand stitched and woven by skilled Italian craftsmen.

Faulkner out. Again

We should insist on having Nike back, even though they were rubbish and couldn't produce the kits until Christmas and cost us a fortune, they're a big name.

Are the comments on this thread just cut and paste jobs from the last four years?

Happy they have stuck with the basic template, but the colours are still wrong for me - the claret is may be about right, or nearly right, better than previous Macron efforts but the blue on the sleeves is still all wrong.  They seem to be able to get it right on the socks but not the sleeves.  Roll on a change of supplier.

Don't you like the Macron claret? On the contrary, assuming that the right shade of claret is the one of the 70's and early 80's shirts, I think that the shade of claret of  last season kit was perfect.

Nike made only one right claret, the one of the kit with the black socks. The other efforts were dark red, not claret.

Obviously we must agree on the idea of claret, which is not easy.
Being claret the name of a wine used in the South of France, I think that claret is the colour of the wine, a mix between red and purple, the colour that, much significantly, in the rest of Europe is called bordeaux (a more famous french wine), a shade that for its content of purple is different from dark red and maroon (that is a mix between red and brown).

Sorry Archie, no I haven't been a fan of the Macron version of claret.  I think it tends towards the too dark and purple tinged, the type of claret West Ham have often had, but Villa rarely have.   I grew up remembering the shirts of the 60s, 70s and early 80s as the lovely rich "dark red" as you put i, rather than Macron's more purple tinged version.    I suppose it's all in the eye of the beholder but there is something not quite right/not quite Villa about Macron's version of Claret.  Also compare the first Le Coq sportif shirt - a lovely shade of proper Villa claret - to their later effort from around 1983-4 a more purple version which was horrible.  I'd put Macron's shade as nearer to the latter.  But it's more the blue that I hate on the Macron kits, far too wishy washy and lilac tinged.  It should be  a lovely rich deep sky blue, which  Macron have managed each time with the socks but somehow not the shirts. .  I think Nike got the colours   more or less right although one shirt was a bit on the red side of claret I seem to recall.

Macron must be the only Italian clothing manufacturer without any style.

I don't know, I've always thought Armani stuff to be overly tacky.

your moaning is becoming white noise SH. Every so often if you threw in a bit of happiness you're other criticism might stand out a bit more. You've been told on numerous occasions that there are many of us, including myself that agree with what you say about the club. It's just everything you say is so radically negative and almost never complimentary or positive. I would be willing to bet that everyone here just knew you'd hate the kit, whatever it was because you had made up your mind beforehand that whatever  Randy or Faulkner do must be shit. It isn't, and once in a while it would be nice if you could either see that, or if you don't like don't comment on it and bring yet another thread down to a commentary on how dark the clouds are.

Kits are all about opinions and I accept not everyone is going to like it, but is it really so bad to have made the comments you have?

Is Stone Island Italian? Didn't know that.
Macron is up there with Bill Stunt Jeans when it comes to tackiness though. The sooner we give them the push the the better. Rubbish like that shouldn't be associated with a club as grand as Aston Villa. It's beneath us.

Better off with some multi-national child slave labour drivers instead.
