Problem with the round badge -today- is it will look like Chelsea's.

We got there first in the 70's yada yada yada, but as far as promotion overseas (and possibly even copyright) it might be an issue.

I was going to post the exact same thing. Middlesbrough is/was another one.

The round 70s and 80s one is of course a classic but I do like the crest we had from 1992-98 ish. I did like that one.

That 1923 crest (with a similar colour scheme to today's) looks like a professional design effort.

The blue is just dark enough to make a contrast and the lion has sharp detail

Whereas today's crest- with professional designers supposedly working on it- looks weak and half-arsed.

My favourite Villa badge would be the 1957 shield. However, I have always loved this version which I've had since I was little boy. It was part of my older brothers birthday cake when he was a lad in the late 60's. One of my favourite Villa possessions, now takes pride of place in my kitchen.

Similar(ish) to this. Which I think went on a car judging by the back of it, beyond that no idea what it was for. I've had it since I was a nipper in the 70s.

I have a soft spot for the 69 , as they were wearing this when I started to go Villa.

1975   for me
Always had a soft spot for the 69 too.

But as far as badges are concerned, the 57 for me please, or a slight variation of it.

I don't get this kit snobbery.

Those of you that want Adidas or Puma are just after a brand.  Unless you're a Chumpions League club, you're going to end up with a template like in the case of Adidas with Albion, Forest, Middlesbrough, Bristol City, Hull.

Many of the teams below Premiership level will end up with kits made by Adidas, Macron or whomever but the kit is supplied by an intermediary teamwear business - the same sort of business you or I could go to for our own team.

At least with Macron we have something that's ours & only ours.  It's individual, thought out & exclusive.  Not the case with some of the Nike efforts.

And ugly as fuck and prone to falling apart on the third wash.

i think that's the main objection.
