I love that picture of it on the poster... Plain, no sponsor but no badge either on the negative side. Great design though, well done to all involved. Can't wait for the launch.

I remember a couple of years ago when Tatron were announced as our suppliers they posted a video on the OS where they waxed lyrical about Villa's history and said they would base their new kits on some of Villa's most iconic shirts from the past. We were all slightly relieved and a little bit excited, only to be completely let down when they revealed the kits and it looked like they were designed by a short sighted chimpanzee let loose with a paint brush and a needle and thread.

If Randy sells up, can we get rid of our shit badge?

I'm certain that it will be the new owner's first priority.

I think the poster was made by the same person that designed our badge. It's no co-incidence that the poster comes out the week Randy was in town.

I doubt that very much. He hasn't been to a game on nearly 18 months so I doubt if he'd be bothered to knock up a poster for a kit launch that he won't bother attending.

If you weren't such a Nike fanboy, maybe you'd be willing to give them a chance too.

The kit is based on our famous kits of the past. It has a claret body and blue sleeves.

It was also manufactured by adults in Italy, being paid a reasonable wage, rather than by children in Asian sweatshops, like the clothing you're so fond of. Another reason to be proud of our great club.

We should add that to our honours list...

2013/14 shirts stitched together by adults (with no sense of style)

Makes you proud!

I've always found something very useful when seeing an item of clothing I don't like, I don't buy it.

And yet over 70% of our fans like them.

So what should the criteria for deciding who designs our shirts be?

(i) They give us the most money.

(ii) They release the kits on time and don't cost the club millions in lost revenue.

(iii) They are produced ethically.

(iv) They are popular, gaining approval of over 70% of Villa fans on a message board.

(v) Whether Saunders Heroes, who refuses to like anything that hasn't had a swoosh placed on it by teeny, underpaid hands, likes it.

Which criteria do you think is most significant?

Are you saying it's not the biggest shirt deal in our history? Which one was worth more?

Please can you answer, do you think that Nike's failure to get the kits out before Winter had started was acceptable?

Any second now...

I haven't bought a Villa shirt since I was a kid, but I still want to see our players in a shirt that's fit for a club as great as ours. Instead we get a supplier that known for mainly supplying lower league and non league clubs.
They must be the only Italian clothing company without a sense of style.

If Randy sells up, can we get rid of our shit badge?

One of the first rumours linked with the takeover was a complete rebranding of the club. You may just get your wish, Mr H.

I think we should either:

- Keep it but remove the star
- Go back to the original version of the current crest
- Have the lion embroidered onto the shirt in a similar way Spurs have with their cockerel with 'prepared' under it

Yeah I'd like to see a stripped down version of the club badge. No crest, just the rampant lion with 'prepared' written underneath.

Agree with it all. I'd take Macron over Nike, though they do have their faults.

Nike are fucking shit.

If that was done right it would be fantastic.

More than 70% of our fans think they are sufficiently stylish. It is always going to be impossible to please every single fan, especially a Nike fanboy who had made his mind up before seeing the strip, but I'd say over 70% is a pretty good approval rate.

Virtually every company has far more lower-league than top-flight clients. Even including your "we'll have the strips released next month, honest" mates, Nike. This is because there are far more lower-league than top flight clubs. Macron do have a large number of top-flight clubs though including Napoli, Lazio, Sporting Lisbon and Monaco.

It would look a lot less 'busy'. One of the reasons I don't like our current one. I don't like the star either.
