Bomb Squad
« on: April 22, 2014, 12:15:02 AM »
I have heard constant references to the "bomb squad" but I have no idea what this is?

Could someone please confirm to me what exactly it is?

Could they also confirm how people become a member of this squad and what are the qualifications necessary to join?

Thanks in advance as I am genuinely confused by this issue.

Very clever men. But I don’t trust them. Gerry Adams looks like a deputy headmaster and Martin McGuinness looks like a clown without make-up.

The Bomb Squad is an American hip hop production team, known for their work with the rap group Public Enemy.

They are noted for their dense, distinct, innovative production style, often utilizing dozens of samples on just one track. They are also known for their ability to incorporate harsh, unmelodic sounds and samples into their songs although a citation is needed for this.

be nice to him. He asked a genuine question.

Colin - there are the unwashed and unwanted members of the Aston Villa squad deemed too expensive and too troublesome to form part of the present or future. So they were designated high squad numbers and told to train with the kids or essentially do what the hell they wanted as they were never going to play for the club again. Basically millions of pounds of money that we don't really have just pissed down the drain. Players openly offered to any bidder anywhere, the contracts so grotesque that most didn't want to touch them with a ten foot pole.

Hopefully that answers your question. Welcome to H&V. Take your pick of the biscuits that are left. It's mainly crumbs unfortunately.

It's not as big as it used to be. Memebership is also a matter for some debate. But basically includes all players signed by Houllier and McLeish that are still on the clubs books. Steven Ireland was the most recent player to hand in his badge and novelty hat when he signed permanently for Stoke in the January transfer window.

Current memebers -

Darren Bent
Enda Stevens
Alan Hutton

Shay Given was thought to be a member, but Lambert recently denied this when making him temporary first team coach. In truth he is about 11th choice goalkeeper at the club behind Gordon Cowans who co-incidentally has also been named temporary first team coach despite not being in the bomb squad.

Charles N'Zogbia may or may not be a member in the same sense that he may or may not be a footballer. Nobody seems to know either, but the longer he goes without playing the more people are convinced that the answer is 'yes'.

It was just the over paid players left over by the MON era like Hutton, Habib Beye (sp), Dunne, Warnock (I think), Shay Given, Collins... I forget the exact details and names were debated. Just look at any player brought in the MON regime and if they were over paid, useless, problematic and not fit for the current team then they could be argued as being part of the "bomb squad"

Literally the only thing I know about that band is that they had a song called "A Daisy Chain for Satan."
