Think it's fair to say we are playing for the draw.

Spurs. The most unreliable bunch of bottling tossers the league has ever seen.
This is true but lumping on them in game to win might be profitable and for us, all the more pleasurable.

Anyone hear about what Charlie Nicholas said on Soccer Saturday:

"I have it on very good authority from a mutual friend of ours, that Paul has been exceptionally close to deals for Barry, Lukaku, Sissoko, Holtby and Coutinho, only to have them fail at boardroom level. He knows what he needs to do, but I'm not sure the structure put in place there will ever allow him to do any better. He'd be the first to admit he's not doing great, but I'm told he's getting frustrated by the lack of ambition. It's a big summer because he's kept his part of the bargain now. I think he'll walk away if he's not given funds."

Interesting.

If that turns out to be true, then we're truly going nowhere.

You could also take that to meaning that while the house was on fire they weren't going to invest in more wood. I don't disbelieve Nicholas but isn't his comments really in line with the financial direction the club committed to when Lambert joined? Every player decision since has indicated that while some of those disastrous contracts existed, we weren't going add any new ones of that level. As a fan it doesn't make good reading.

If that's the financial line we are taking, then we're never going to achieve anything.

It'd actually make me feel sympathetic to Lambert. And there would be only limited point in sacking him.

He's a good manager potentially.

All side to side and backwards....no one in midfield knows how to look up and thread a ball through....basic easy stuff.

Doesn't mean he'd have any idea what to do with those players.

That ball from Holt sums up Aston Villa. Poetic.
