That quote from Charlie Nicholas may shed light on Lambert's recent statement that "there's a lot of stuff people don't see". Hmmm indeed

Anyone hear about what Charlie Nicholas said on Soccer Saturday:

"I have it on very good authority from a mutual friend of ours, that Paul has been exceptionally close to deals for Barry, Lukaku, Sissoko, Holtby and Coutinho, only to have them fail at boardroom level. He knows what he needs to do, but I'm not sure the structure put in place there will ever allow him to do any better. He'd be the first to admit he's not doing great, but I'm told he's getting frustrated by the lack of ambition. It's a big summer because he's kept his part of the bargain now. I think he'll walk away if he's not given funds."

Interesting.

If that turns out to be true, then we're truly going nowhere.

Depressing if that's the case, why own a football club if you're not gonna bother trying to compete?

Very worrying if true. Hard to know though, could well be a bit of self-preservation on Lambert's part to try and make himself look better.

I think the story falls at the first hurdle. We were never in for Barry. Barry has said it, as has Lambert. Self preservation seems to be the act of the day.

Hardly surprising all of those name wage wise would be out of our range until we get rid of the bomb squad

No Bacuna....injured?

He was injured from about 40 mins in last week. However Lambert decided to keep him on for the full 90.

This season can't end quick enough.

If that side had to play 38 games we would be down by Christmas .

There has always been something plasticky and faux American about Crystal Palace.

Jason Puncheon is the one that worries me. Come on Villa, lets AV 'em.
