Thank you Tony for humiliating and embarrassing this club with that childish and disgusting tweet.  Treat the club with respect it deserves.  Ian Holloway knows much more about football that you ever will.

Christ almighty- if that last sentence is true we're in way worse trouble than I'd ever imagined.

Well he don't, but with that accent, people are to busy laughing at him, to listen.

It's cringeworthy. You'd expect a Harvard-educated professional and owner of the great Aston Villa to be above getting into foul-mouthed Twitter spats with irrelevant wankers. It's the sort of thing you'd associate more with Lescott or Richards.

And incidentally, what happens when one of the players gets into a public slanging match? He's going to look a bit of a tit hauling them over the coals, isn't he?

Foul-mouthed spat?  Really?  Someone directly asked him to comment on the story, he responded saying holloway failed as a player and manager and was doing the same as a pundit and his opinion should be ignored.  I honestl;y don't see the problem, for me this is just another thing where because we lost a game everything anyone at the club does is automatically shit and embarrassing and shows how far we've sunk, etc.

Everyone wanted a chairman who talked more, we get one but now he's doing the wrong type of talking.  However if he was just saying politician style nothings the forum would be full of "don't tell me, show me".  As I've said before all the stuff that people on here complain about with managers/chairman saying the wrong things, or kits being the wrong colour, etc is just a proxy for being pissed off because we're not winning enough games.

I'm glad he addressed it. But he could have said something like "I really don't care what what Holloway says. He and his opinion is utterly irrelevant".

For me the fact we lost a friendly has no bearing on my opinion of Tweets like this. I would still think it was base and playing to the populist hanker for noise. Some people may like this kind of thing. I think it's pretty classless.

It's not a case that everything everybody is doing at the club is rubbish. But there are more important things to be getting on with than Twitter. I didn't like Randy's ramblings and I'm not mad on Tony's tweets either.

This. For me responding to the tweet was a waste of time, but if he felt the need to, then something like this would be fine.

We've gone from an owner who does incoherent in the form of lengthy quasi - biblical metaphors, to one who manages incoherent in short trashy tweets.

It's only football and it's only Twitter. It'll be forgotten by next week.

I don't care. Tweet away. Say what you like within reason, but back it all up with making the team unplayable on the park.  That part is a long way short at the minute so he has work to do. Lots of it.

Yeah, probably. Unless he really gets a taste for it. He could spend his whole life shooting the breeze with every Twitter wind up merchant there is. Ultimately though, what's the point?

I think the difference between what he put and what you've put is why the tweet was deleted, the sentiment is the same though and I'd rather see a slightly harsh response like we got than nothing which is what the last lot spent years doing, I'm fed up of people trashing the club whilst 'we' just sit back and accept it, I hope they have the same approach with WM and the Mail over the next few months as well, they both need to be forced to be a little more positive about us.

As regards the specific comments made by Mr Sullivan, we have tried but can’t seem to come up with a response that reflects terribly well on us.

Written by our much-maligned former owner, or so I was told.
