If Holloway is a failed manager, having got both Blackpool & Palace into the Premier League, then Di Matteo's got some work to do to impress Dr X.
I fear we've ended up with an owner similar to Leeds have - all talk, no progress.

Di Matteo doesn't have corresponding relegations with Leicester and Millwall on his cv though. I mean what have Leicester done since he left.

He is quoting Kafka now.
It's like watching a ticking time bomb.
I think it is set for post transfer deadline day.

Personally I'm all for this.  The media have used us as a punchbag for years so it's not like this is going to create more bad press than we've had anyway. What he does need to do from here is make sure we're given the best chance of challenging right up at the top of the league by making the funds available and encouraging RDM to do whatever he needs to for us to look like a team.

He can take the piss out morons like Holloway as much as he likes so long as he doesn't give them easy shots back by seeing us languish in mid-table of a league that we have to be looking to win.

Holloway's comments are ultra lazy. I couldn't care less he got lucky in two seasons in an otherwise shite career, he's talking out his backside.

Xia made the point that we're waiting in a chain for Premier League players, presumably lower end ones, but nonetheless we're in a bit of a stasis at the moment. I get the frustrations and I want four players right now too, but I suppose you've got to trust him that he will do his utmost to deliver.

To not even give somebody the chance to fail is incredibly premature, but then beyond dimlow's like Loves the Albion, I don't think we've seen too much of that on here. The Sixth Form common room forum however is a bit more skittish.

It's not particularly dignified is it? A man in his position should show more prudence.

Do you really believe that it is ok for our owner to be abusive towards a pundit simply for expressing an opinion? I think it's appalling and I agree with others who have said he needs to get off there before he really does some damage.

The only way we will stop being a punchback for the press is getting it right at the club behind the scenes and on the pitch. He needs to communicate through the proper channels and only speak when there is something to say.

Holloway was ripped on here when he made that "used to be famous" comment. If Gold, for example, had done the Tweet Tony did we'd have ripped into him. For me the same applies to Tony. I'd find it unacceptable if a player had said it, never mind the owner of Aston Villa.

It's made the Fiver aswell - well done Tony....

BITS AND BOBS
“A failed player, failed manager and now [effed] pundit. Don’t bother reading at all!” Aston Villa owner Tony Xia reads Ian Holloway’s prediction that his side will finish 16th in the Championship this season, gets froth on, hits Twitter, drops heat. And swiftly deletes it.

It is quite funny though. It's not like he's called him an in-bred, shit kicking ******. I think that might have been a bit much.
