We really don't need to spend 50 million in this window, there will be a limit to who you can buy anyway as we are in the championship

I guess it depends how many players leave. I am expecting that the few decent players will be off and we will be building from a low base. In which case, given the stated ambition to get back at the first attempt, I think we will need significant spending.

Hopefully we can flush the turds, Lescott, Richards, Guzan, Gabby, Bacuna and Okore, and offoad the not quite good enoughs, Sanchez, Baker and Sinclair.
Then there's the ones that are good enough but probably won't stick around, Ayew and Gana.
That leaves Bunn, Clark, Hutton, Westwood, Gardner and Steer who will all probably be OK as squad players but not sure about starters. Then there's Grealish, Veretout, Gill and Amavi who might stay but there's a chance they won't and if they do, will they perform (with Amavi I'm thinking about it from a recovering injury point of view). Not sure what the deal is with Cissoko. So that leaves Gestede as the one sure starter for next season for me, but I'm sure there's plenty that won't agree and indeed, will he be a good fit for Di Matteos style anyway?
So lots of question marks.

So lots of question marks.

There is, which is why it'll probably take more than one transfer window to sort it all out.  Meaning immediate promotion is unlikely.  We'll probably have to live with some players we want out, due to attitude or lack of ability, hanging around a little longer.

Patience is what we need, which is hard for football fans.

agree that all of the rabble wont get sorted in one window

It may not be possible to get rid of all those we as fans consider the bad apples, but I'm sure a bulk will go (ones gone ready!) and it seems that there will be plenty of funds to reshape the quality and mindset of the squad.

Some might of course be redeemable. I think anything other than automatic promotion given our size, draw, manager and resources will be a huge failure.
