Lots of worriers, but only time will tell if we're sinking to an even lower level

There's a test match on at Lords, who cares about association football right now?

European Championships start in seven hours.

I'm thinking of very little else besides Association Football.

There's no evidence as of yet that I've seen to suggest Xia, and people posting things continually about Reading every three or four pages is not evidence as to his credentials and finance, is anything but what he says he is.

I haven't seen anybody mention Reading to discredit Xia's credentials and finance other than question the company he keeps which is fully understandable given Samuelson's history.

Then you've missed the insinuation that Samuelson is involved because he's provided all the funds and Xia is his front man, it's been hinted at a few times in the last few days.

I guess you are referring to me. I would say it is perfectly reasonable to question why Samuelson is involved in this deal at all. He is supposedly someone who manages off shore accounts, he is not a football person. So what is he doing at Villa Park?

According to Samuelson and Banfill's company SocFin Group website, they have quite a lot to do with football and sports in general.  Websites do not prove anything though.

I notice on the SocFin website that they congratulate Robert Sarver, Andy Kohlberg and Steve Nash on acquiring Mallorca.  Maybe, as with that takeover, Samuelson and Banfill are simply introducing and arranging the Villa takeover.

Charlie something or another has left the club. Chief Commercial officer apparently. I'm also looking forward to the next Charlie leaving the club in a few weeks.

That is conceivable Billy.  From China Dr Tony probably wanted some people on the ground in the UK to help with the process, hopefully once complete they'll take their fee and disappear.

A light at the end of the tunnel?. ................Godzvilla!

John Percy ( Telegraph )
10 JUNE 2016 • 1:32PM
Aston Villa’s £75 million takeover by Dr Tony Xia is expected to finally go through early next week, the Telegraph can reveal.

Xia will meet with Football League officials in London on Monday to agree the deal and is set to be confirmed as Villa’s new owner after providing “compelling evidence” of funds.

The Chinese businessman has passed the required owner and directors’ test and the Premier League and Football League are both satisfied that he is fit and proper to complete the buy-out from Randy Lerner.
Xia’s financial muscle had been called into question due to concerns over past business dealings but he has provided clear proof of funds, both for the forthcoming season and even the next.
Keith Wyness, the former Everton chief executive, will be part of the restructured board and is expected to have a major role.

It is understood that Steve Hollis, the current Villa chairman, was heavily involved in the prolonged negotiations with both governing bodies but will depart later this month.
With Xia’s takeover set to be approved next week, new manager Roberto di Matteo and assistant Steve Clarke will be officially unveiled shortly after.

Di Matteo was appointed last week after being headhunted by Xia, with Clarke and Kevin Bond completing a strong managerial set-up at the relegated club.

Compelling evidence? Is that the best he could do?

This stinks more and more.

Very worried now.

I'll give it a while before lighting a cigar I think, although this is positive news.  Hopefully certain people will disappear once confirmed and any lingering concerns about their murky past will be someone else problem.
