To clarify a little I specifically said casual racism because I don't think it was necessarily intended I just didn't see the point of it being there, it was just an odd term to include in that context if it wasn't intended to be racist.  I can see the point of relating it to Nando's but I wouldn't associate it that way myself.

Seriously though are people really saying they have never heard black people and fried chicken being linked as racist? Particularly during my senior school years it was used a lot by the grade A racists.

By the way I'm not a very PC person in general and have taken no offence whatsoever. I completely take Mark's word but I can definitely see why it has been inferred as being possibly racist. You simply wouldn't say it if it were about white people. I don't know, what do us milky bars eat? Roast potatoes?

Exactly. I don't doubt the poster is not racist but to make out that fried chicken has absolutely no racial connotations is to me ludicrous. As I say, I think it was a funny post with one potentially unwise reference. Time to move on.

I have heard it used as a racial stereotype, didn't notice it in the original post but once it was quoted it got me thinking 'would it have been said if it was about Guzan and Grealish?' The answer is no, in my opinion, so I'm not shocked that at least one person picked up on it.

That changing room layout certainly seems it would favour 'leaders' in the Dion Dublin-type mould!

Maybe the reason we've been shit for the last five seasons is attributable to having no players with 'big' personalities.

I imagine it looks something like this:

Every player except Lescott, Richards, Bacuna and Gabby sit with their head in their hands and stare at the floor.

Richards and Lescott spend the whole time whooping, hollering, talking really really loudly about cars, money, girls, how much they can bench press, image rights, fried chicken, whether you get more pay in the US or the UAE, the good days at Man C, when they were in the England team, how many likes they got for their last tweet, their favourite character on TOWIE, pink boots or blue boots, outdoor pool or indoor pool, underground cinema or underground bowling alley, whether ITV or Sky pay more for pundits and how shit the French players are.

Gabby gets involved in the occasional high five and shouts 'innit bruv' a lot.

Bacuna just sits and smiles at everyone for inappropriately long periods of time.

N'Zogbia occasionally swans in in increasingly outlandish outfits.

It's a good post apart from the fried chicken bit. It would have been nice had the odd white player been ridiculed.
