That pic doesn't seem right, the other names on the shirts & why would they do a photo shoot of sorts with last season's relegation shirt. .

The guy next to Tony is not Wyness?

Wyness Wiki page now lists him as Villa CEO

Then who is he in the pic?

Definitely isn't Wyness. It's not Samuelson or Cook either, so by process of elimination could be Banfill?

Everything seems a lot more 'right' now than it did just even just a week or so ago. it could all still go tits up of course, and I won't be cracking out the champers til we see the 'in the suit, in the boardroom' photos after it is all done and dusted. As a natural worrier about all things Villa, my next concern is the make up of the new board. Not too worried about RDM, I think he'll do fine with the proper people around him and a clear structure in place across the club. Main issue for me though now, is who will be making the higher level decisions and what will that structure be? This is where Randy, really fucked up all the way through his tenure. If it all goes well for Xia, he needs to get this sorted properly. Quickly would be be good too, but for fucks sake, please get it right.

I've had a close look and can reveal it is  a Mark Hughes/Mike Sumerbee lookalike he hires to make it look like he knows a couple of football people.

That changing room layout certainly seems it would favour 'leaders' in the Dion Dublin-type mould!

Maybe the reason we've been shit for the last five seasons is attributable to having no players with 'big' personalities.

Maybe the reason we've been shit for the last five seasons is attributable to having no players with 'big' personalities.

I imagine it looks something like this:

Every player except Lescott, Richards, Bacuna and Gabby sit with their head in their hands and stare at the floor.

Richards and Lescott spend the whole time whooping, hollering, talking really really loudly about cars, money, girls, how much they can bench press, image rights, fried chicken, whether you get more pay in the US or the UAE, the good days at Man C, when they were in the England team, how many likes they got for their last tweet, their favourite character on TOWIE, pink boots or blue boots, outdoor pool or indoor pool, underground cinema or underground bowling alley, whether ITV or Sky pay more for pundits and how shit the French players are.

Gabby gets involved in the occasional high five and shouts 'innit bruv' a lot.

Bacuna just sits and smiles at everyone for inappropriately long periods of time.

N'Zogbia occasionally swans in in increasingly outlandish outfits.

You know i started to chuckle at this then realised it's actually pretty close to what will go on.  Sad.

The sports press are just like us at the moment on that there is little happening as we're not even in the silly season yet, just that cold dull lull between waiting for one season to officially end at the next to begin. At least they've got the Euros to talk about but that doesn't start for another week or so so the pressure is on for them to fill up column inches. One of the only stories out there is Villa's takeover. If truth be told it doesn't feel as worrying as it did and the moment Pearson went to Derby I presumed that he was told that we'd gone down the Di Matteo route. I think Pearson would have waited otherwise. The chance to take the reigns at Villa would have been too much of a temptation with or without a new owner.

It's just a question of waiting for us to be a fucking football league club rather than where we belong to be able to dot i's and cross the t's and ratify what seems to be now set in stone regarding owner and probably manager.

See Mark, most of that I was ok with but why did you have to say 'fried chicken' you just seem to have decided to randomly slip in a bit of casual racism which really served no purpose.

What is the name on the shirt concealed by his left shoulder? Maybe is is his own.

I think you're reading something into it that's not there. A fair amount of my family are of similar ethnicity to these guys. Apology?

What difference does that make?

EDIT although having read it, it doesn't look racist to me.
