Surely the club are aware of this growing concern
Do they not think it would be wise to issue a statement of sorts to allay any fears - or this will just grow and grow and we will look more and more stupid

Maybe I am battered by the piss poor management of the club over recent years to honestly believe that we will triumphantly announce a perfect take over, owner with loads of cash and a new manager with a strong backroom set up

If it falls through then we are stuck with Mr Lerner until he can find another buyer, if no buyer is found quickly, then we could be in for another long, tough season

And there would then be a fire sale of any player with any value, we are £25million in debt to the bank, and I cant see Lerner putting anymore money in to the club.

To be honest assuming Dr Tony is being upfront, then he'll pass the fit and proper test and that'll it'll be pretty clear that this sort of story is bollocks.

What the fuck happens now if this is true?
From Wiki.....
Quote
The paper was launched in London on 16 March 1999,[1] and can now be found in several UK urban centres, plus some smaller railway stations. Localised editions are produced for Birmingham, Brighton, Bristol, Cardiff, Derby, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, Leicester, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Nottingham, Newcastle, and Sheffield.[2] In June 2015, the Metro began circulation in Norwich. It is part of the same media group as are the Daily Mail and The Mail on Sunday, although, in some areas, Metro operates as a franchise with a local newspaper publisher, rather than as a wholly owned concern.
Just a straight copy from the Heil.

It would demonstrate that Randy Lerner is an even bigger idiot than we ever imagined possible, which is pretty hard to image, frankly. Even worse, it would condemn us to even longer under his insane negligence. But, if Dr X is a fraud, then he's a fraud, and we're better off seeing the back of him now rather than in a couple of years when we're in League One or worse. Either way, the Aston Villa circus rumbles on.

If he does turn out to be a snake oil salesman, surely it's better that we find out now than months down the line with transfer embargoes or worse hanging over us?

If it did fall through because of reasons stated in the Metro, then you do have to wonder how Hollis (who is used to putting together and overseeing takeover deals) has had the wool pulled over his eyes whilst doing DD on Dr Xia

We all know that Lerner is a romantic and is easily led - Sir Alex letters etc, would anything surprise anyone? Exposes Hollis which I can't imagine he would be too pleased about!

If this deal falls through, it will make Hollis look like the biggest twat in the commercial/financial industry.
Which is why I think the stories are all bollox and that Hollis would have been sure about the purchaser before it got this far.

That said, the continued speculation is very disconcerting.

If they're confident it will go through, they don't have to allay any fears at all. If I was the club I'd much rather dot the I's and cross the T's and leave the press with egg on their face.

If there's no takeover we are fucked for another season and it will be another relegation battle. No owner, no direction, no manager willing to come in and work with Randolph Fuckwit, no structure, the remotely decent players will want out of the circus before they get even more damaged. Basically it will be like this season but against even shitter teams with us having even shitter players.

I refuse to believe that everyone at the club is so inept that they will have chosen to sell to someone who isn't able to buy the club, that would be hitting rock bottom in the brain fart scale, surely Hollis is capable enough to not do that?

We will see in the next few days I think, If we still have no manager then I'm getting concerned.

What's up, Doc? still waiting for that cheque to clear before you can buy us? can't remember how long it took Lerner to complete the takeover from Doug but this one does give me the impression that all is not going smoothly. The silence is becoming deafening.

“It is the absence of facts that frightens people: the gap you open, into which they pour their fears, fantasies, desires.”

We have one paper/newsgroup telling us we're all doomed and another telling us the new manager has signed and the owner is keen to get started on the rebuild.  The truth is maybe somewhere in there but until everybody see's cold hard facts and progress the void in information will be filled by half-truths and plain lies.

I'd say just ride it out, but this would be a dull thread.

The metro are also running the story that Di Matteo will be named within 48 hours... working for who? With what promises of funds? With what plan in place? It smells like bollocks, they're just throwing stories around. Why would a manager come in to a shell club?
