I suppose if I could be arsed I could dig out the last eight years of  CCTV of me talking bollocks and selling kippers to Professors of physics from Oldham but for now you have to take or reject my word for it.  Ten years on and they still phone my wife and ask her the combination of the safe in the Earth Sciences Department.

This used to be known as the "absent minded professor" syndrome is less enlightened times, and in my experience it is very real.  Of course, one should not generalise and paint all the Donnish fellows with the same brush.

Apparently he worked at MIT as a cleaner and solved mathematical equations left on blackboards.

Brilliant

The most recent interview with Dr Xia continues to position this transaction as either the best thing ever or the most elaborate hoax of all time. It is verging on too good to be true and yet there is a chance it actually could be. None of us really know how this is all going to pan out.

Frustrating that the telegraph only showed half the interview

The Telegraph are beginning to piss me off. One minute they are casting doubt all over the place next minute they get a coup interview

Well we wait, I wonder what's in this deal for the doc, it's looking like the section of last season ,when we really hoped we could turn it around. I really hate to be negative, but I'm a brummie, it comes with the turf. The recent Forbes article comparing this sale to the one atAC Milan really makes you think.

That Forbes article was a pretty appalling space filler..a side were once bought and it went tits up, that could happen to Villa...that was about it. For all the facts it had in it (none) it could equally have said, Villa could be the next Man City if bought....

Does any know when he will get the all clear to become the "official" Aston Villa owner?

Surely it cannot be too much longer to wait

Quite...he's obviously aware of the media frenzy and fans questioning him, his credentials and his wealth and has come out and addressed it a few times now. We're not used to that so it seems to good to be true. He's saying and doing all the right things, everything we wanted as fans....new owner, investment, ambition, identify scouting problems, new manager, transfer kitty, a villa fan (whether he is or not). I'm finding it hard not to like the guy and I hope it turns out to be as ggod as it sounds.
Be nice to ram this down the throat of all the media whores after a season of negativity..

When he passes fit and proper test and is approved by PL and FL. Can't be before 1st June though after the play offs are complete.
