The longer this goes on the narrower the window becomes for the new manager to get started on a huge mess which won't be a quick fix. I hope it's Pearson. Not that bothered about Moyes.

Not you Mr U but why can't we simply hold a collective position of saying we will reserve judgement on his success or failure as the Villa owner without resorting to personal denigration of the man?

Well if the takeover did happen to go tits up I wouldn't imagine there is a plan B. Let's just hope it happens because the alternative would be what ?
That's the million dollar question that we really really do not want to contemplate.
The only thing that the hordes of villa fans worldwide can hope for is that Hollis etc know what they are doing and wouldn't sell our wonderful club to chancers.Hollis could go down in folklore as the man who saved us from the abyss or he can be chased out of dodge by an angry mob. I'm off to look in the loft for my Tony Butler prayer mat.

I'd be happy to put my money on Randy having very competent legal advice on a 100 million pound business deal. Announced on the web site and a farewell message - it's done.

Will Tone be a good owner, dunno.

If you are referring to me Brian, the phrase was 'seem a bit shifty'and it was more  a way of saying this is the worst thing he can be accused of - as far as anyone here knows - in relation to PL/FL rules.

We all know how desperate RL is to sell though, so the first payment could have sealed the deal. I sincerely hope not, but we don't know jack shit, im sure hes not that stupid but it has to be a possibility. So im hoping we get another update soon.

I'm still in the patient and hopeful camp.  For Xia to have got to this stage, he will have to have verified his wealth to Merrill Lynch and/or the new law firm handling the sale, plus Hollis and Lerner, and there's no way he can have done that without proving that he's got the cash available to do the deal.

I know lots of extremely rich people who you wouldn't be able to find out much about on the internet, mainly due to the fact that they don't want you to.  I hope Xia is one of those.

I agree.

Me too. It would be quite the stunt to have got this far. A lot of very smart people had to have been duped. Not saying it can't be done but it would be the kind of stuff seen in movies and not real life. So as we all hope this week validates his ability to buy us and we appoint a good manager to lead our return to the PL.

Yes, I can see it two weeks from now as Tony is turfed out the front door of B6..."I'd have got away with it had it not been for those pesky kids 40 and 50 year olds on the H&V forum".

makes a change from the amusement park owner

The sale has been agreed 'subject to FA/FL approval'. It is not yet complete and no money will have changed hands.

But it's not going on any longer than it was last week is it?  We aren't a championship club until 1 June, so that is when they will do due dilligence on Dr T and it will happen.  I think we have a manager ready to go, and it wasn't Moyes, hence him "pulling out" and all will be ratified by the middle of next week.  And most players and agents are on hols at the moment or in Euros squads (not that we'll probably be looking in that market!!)

According to Tony Xia he's got a cheque from a recent business sale for £430M sitting in a bank account to pay out a small portion to Lerner. What's the problem?
