If Moyes agrees to join us this week I think we can pretty much assume that the takeover deal's a good un.

I am increasingly coming to the view that this take over could fall flat on its arse. King and Bernstein have  walked the media including tha FT have hinted that even for China he looks dodgy.

Those are some pretty significant straws in the wind for me.

Maybe they walked because we were being sold and they had no more to do. Mervyn King went public and stated that if the takeover went through it would be very very good news for Aston Villa. We seem to read more into what the media puts out there than we do when people are quoted directly.
This is the same media that told us our u21's beat our first team and that the new badge cost £1 million to design. And the telegraph have just rehashed yet another piece today...
It's Villa bashing time for the media..has been for some time...

I thought they left because Randy Lerner was being a cock..?

Yeah that's the vital measure as far as I'm concerned.

David Moyes becomes Villa manager - good times.
Mike Bassett becomes Villa manager - not so good times.

Ha Ha..quite likely...the fact is, we don't know...
Let's hope that a month down the line that Moyes / RDM is in charge, we have a new owner officially and that the transfer kitty is being spent ..

Because if David Moyes came to Villa he wouldn't be coming here to piss about hoping the owners would prove to be reliable. He'd be coming to Villa to get us promoted and then push for the top 6.

'Other than the fact '

There are no facts just opinions and as I stated some pretty significant straws in the wind.

So you don't accept the professor that he studied uder at Harvard saying that his education record at Harvard and MIT is exactly as it was represented as being a fact?

You don't take a sale certificate showing they've recently sold a company for £430m as a fact?

What constitutes a fact in your world?

we would have more chance of promotion with a manager thats actually got a team promoted from that league

But that's an opinion of David Moyes - not the owner. David Moyes would be coming here with that ambition, and if he wasn't confident he would be backed in that ambition then he wouldn't come.

Because as we all know the Championship is unique in world sport, being the only competition where ability comes second to having been in it before. Ergo, Neil Warnock would be preferable to Pep Guardiola.

Love the fact that three years ago Moyes was good enough for Manchester United, however some feel he's not good enough for a team relegated from the Premier League in their worst state in living memory.

The Mail on Sunday, the article is linked on here somewhere, good luck finding it though.

I can just imagine the conversation.

"What length will my contract be?"

"Twelve months."

"That's not long. What happens if I win promotion?"

"We'll sack you and get someone else in."
