Well having slept on it, on the one hand I'm relieved that within a week of the season ending Lerner has gone, we have a new owner, and hopefully today we'll have a new manager; but on the other hand I can't understand why I'm not really excited about things. Maybe it's because we don't know a fat lot about the new owner and how much he's prepared to pump into the squad, and maybe it's because I'm a bit underwhelmed about the prospect of RDM being the new manager. Hopefully over the summer we'll get a clearer picture of the direction we're going in and by the start of the season I'll be more positive. Or maybe I'm just a misery arse who can't believe that after so much being wrong over the last 5 years, with expectations lowered, and with such a huge disconnect between the club and the fans, things can possibly go right.

I am a bit more interested in Keith Wyness now I have read his wikipedia page. He is good at making a profit. Keep an eye on him. I think the future of Bodymoor Heath is unsafe and perhaps even Villa Park with Mr Wyness at the helm.

Blimey, he hasn't even walked through the door yet and you're predicting he's going to sell the training ground and Villa Park.

Let's face it, we'd be bloody mad to not be cautious after the nightmare tenure of Lerner and co.

I'm still in the optimistic camp.

However a good mate who is a Reading fan, and a bit of a whizz in the city, knows his financial stuff, has just texted me to say "It's money laundering"  My main concern is the invovlement of Samuelson above all else.

I think you've answered your own question in the last sentence.

I think we just have to be cautiously optimistic and see what develops over the next few weeks and months.

Don't worry, Xia's been a Villa fan for years you know.

We've gone from the absolute, cast-iron certainty of failure and decline under Randy Lerner, to the uncertainty of an unknown quantity from China. From knowing where we were heading (down) to not knowing. I'd rather have that uncertainty for now, and more will become clear in the coming months. We have a lifeline.

How I feel as well

All the ground improvements and community projects are great - but I want to know about The new Board make up,  Manager, The Managers team,  and more importantly the squad - no false "War chest bullshit" just a clear indication of deadwood being cut and decent talent coming in

That wikipedia page gives cause for some concern Clampy. But lets hope Im wrong and both he and Recon give long and valued service to Aston Villa.

Somebody better tell the NCA and FCA quick.

Are Di Matteo's teams really that boring?  I honestly don't remember but I do remember watching the first leg of the schalke vs real madrid game a couple of months back and thinking they looked a good side.

I know, I'm sceptical, but Reading fans feel like they got seriously burned by this guy.  And for him to be invilved to the point that they put his name on a shirt in the dressing room pic worries me.

I doubt the people involved in this deal from our end (especially when they apparently had a few options) would let dodgey dealers buy the club.

That said, I suppose the bloke who bought the Blues would have pulled the wool over everybody's eyes, but then again if the feral rodents that are Sullivan, Gold and Brady were selling, were they actually bothered?

To be honest I've not heard of that guy before yesterday. What was his involvement at Reading?
