Right at the risk of finding out these guys aren't worth a shot, I am going to post this, it's what we have been waiting for for a long time.

All I can think about is an old Burt Lancaster movie with a company called Recon Com who planned to destroy Civilisation As We Know It.  I think this chap needs to do a lie detector test.  First question "did you invent the bicycle kick?"

At least Mr Xia's name can scan nicely into Randy's song if it all goes wrong!

Only kidding, it's going to be great..

Serious question- if the sell price was the reported £60m has Lerner written off the £200m invested by him over the period of his tenure?

I think there's a load of debt being taken on also, maybe as much as £100m.
The sell price is Quoted as 60million.
That's it Lerner has walked away having lost £200 mil.

I am skeptical. Probably a step up from Randy, just, but still, I am not feeling great about this.

Why?

Zero transparency on his or the Recon groups assets is my primary concern. 60M is a trivial amount of money to get via loans or even get through savvy payment structures My fear is we have traded one owner who wanted the club to be self sufficient but would dig into his pocket when needed to one who wants the club to turn a profit and will fund that by Villa's current assets rather than investing.

And no I have no evidence this is their plan, but lack of evidence overall is what makes me wary of these new owners.

He's wearing cheap shoes and has forgotten his tie.

I'm worried.

I'm hearing that Tony Xia, a Chinese businessman, has bought the club. Lock stock and barrel.
I've put two lines on tonight's lotto. Reckon I'm due six numbers.

Thanks Gerrin- that presupposes that repayments would be on a structured basis- perhaps a claim by Lerner on any future profit resulting from a sale?

Lerner bought Villa debt free with £20m in the bank according to Doug. He won't have left it debt free, I'm not sure of the structure of the debt or amount. He will have taken a hit but not for everything he's put in. It's a bit like Mike Ashley at Newcastle and the interest free £100m the club owes him.

35,000 employees in over 75 countries. I'd say it's a serious Group.
