I am struggling to find anything out about this company - I have found a Recon Group in the States that deal in reverse logistics and I think I saw something mentioned about smart transport.  I need to pull an Experian off and find out more.
Me either but if he's 30 years old and spent 6 years at MIT, he can't have been building it for more than 6 years? :feeling worried:

Normal things don't happen to us, do they?

They don't, James. I'm still trying to get my head around what's going on. A clearer understanding of Recon would help, hopefully Pat Mc can shed some light on our new owner. From what I understand, apart from being far more qualified, he also appears to be far more wealthy than the Hong Kong hairdresser down the road.

I'm extremely happy that he intends to keep us at Villa Park. Exciting times (I think).

Think I need a beer to let this all sink in.

Well, we've had a lot of words at Villa Park lately, but now we need action. Only then will we have any idea whether we're in good hands or not.

Anyway, mine's a Tsingtao. Actually, that's bollocks, I'll have a Purity Mad Goose, cheers.

The Recon Group are worth $42 billion according to credit reference agency.  I credit checked them at work.

Serious question- if the sell price was the reported £60m has Lerner written off the £200m invested by him over the period of his tenure?

I think there's a load of debt being taken on also, maybe as much as £100m.

Thanks Gerrin- that presupposes that repayments would be on a structured basis- perhaps a claim by Lerner on any future profit resulting from a sale?

Well I'm not going to get too excited cos he could be like the chicken brothers at Blackburn or Carson Yeung at the blues for all i know.

But at least I know he's not Randy Fucking Lerner so that's something!

Then again, 10 years ago we were saying he's not Doug Ellis.

Just thinking - if he turns out to be a success - and he is Chinese - it will piss off the unwashed in Small Heath big time.
Frankly, that's at the bottom of my list of considerations.

Somewhere below is he carbon neutral like his new club and does he think Jeremy Clarkson is a ******.

His age and CV don't add up. Apart from 6 years at MIT he also spent time in the Peoples Army as an officer among other things. All I can assume is that kids in China mature a lot faster than they do in Europe.

We're only £20m in debt.

Bugger! I was starting to relax about the deal but then saw the value was in dollars.

If you read the club statement the Recon Group own several publicly listed Companies in China and Hong Kong plus numerous private companies in China and worldwide employing thousands of workers. I think in wealth terms that equates to billions....
