Didn't Murphy in his piece for 5Live say that he'd been informed that our PL squad hold contracts between them worth £74 million?
If that's right then any new owner is going to have to take a big hit in trying to off load any of them.

I think it was cumulative duration of 74-years across the whole squad, not a value.  I'm not entirely sure of the relevance as in some instances that is good and others bad.
Ah sorry, I got the wrong end of the stick there.

74 years combined not £74m. Sounds like a pathetic way to make the situation sound bad, as the cumulative total in years is surely completely irrelevant to anything.

I see that Wang's football division is led by Philippe Blatter, the nephew of Honest Sepp.

The 74 years thing is entirely ridiculous when you put into context.  Are we seriously considering getting rid of 20 players on long term contracts, has that ever happened in the history of the higher end of professional football?  There are about 5 or 6 bad eggs that need to be moved on either paid up or on the cheap, others that will attract interest from clubs such as Gueye, Ayew which we will need to decide whether the bids are good enough to be accepted, which leaves us with a nucleus of a squad and then some additions that quite quickly can be turned into a cohesive unit in the Championship.  Even if we were to start next season badly, having 46 games in that league is more than sufficient to mount a charge for promotion as late as Christmas.

If it is Wanda Group I would present Match of the Day in my underpants.

Ive got a Wanda Jackson LP somewhere in the attic if that helps.

That's the most foolish thing I've seen on here in ages. What's it doing in your attic Ron? Get it down and play it!

There are some scary things in my attic...Lord Lucan for one and Lady Ron had a hell of a struggle getting Shergar up there as well!
Have you got room up there for Gabby?

he would never get through the loft hatch

That's a relief, nothing could possibly go wrong if he's going to be the new owner, that's put my mind at rest.

You'd need to significantly uprate your roof joists before even contemplating a wider loft hatch if that Roy Hattersley was going up there.

I'm never one to speculate, or even exaggerate a rumour, but it's all so obvious now I'm amazed the invent-a-story journos at the Mail or even the Sun haven't worked it out themselves yet…

Wanda are investing 3bn Euros in a Leisure Complex/Theme Park on the outskirts of Paris and are reportedly in the process of doing the same in the UK.
Buying Villa for a mere £60m gives them Bodymoor Heath - which is ideally situated for airport and motorways and also over the road from a world famous golf course at the Belfry and just up the road from Drayton Manor.
The Belfry becomes the next acquisition and forms part of the huge complex that includes the land at Bodymoor Heath, now with a merry-go-round and movie-based theme rides (the Wanda group own the rights to The Hangover). Swallow up Drayton Manor and extend the Thomas the Tank Engine track out to Bodymoor and around the Belfry.
A bit of investment in HS2 could even see a stop at Middleton so HS2 passengers could get from London onto the Thomas The Tank loop within the hour, and investing in the M6 Toll road would enable fast free access by road.
All that needs doing then is to turn the Witton End car park into a 3G pitch so the players have somewhere to train.

They are claiming it's a consortium and not an individual but maybe they are wrong on the details...please let it be Wang. I've convinced myself completely over the last 3 hours.
