Larry Ellison - $49bn net worth?!
Wow - Villa to be purchased out of pocket change.
We'd certainly be able to buy out a few contracts with backing like that.
So he waits til we're relegated to 'save' £50m on the purchase price? Doesn't sound very likely does it.

Sounds extremely unlikely & too good to be true.

It's just not going to happen

I don't have any expectations either.  I would rather we just pressed ahead and began to get ourselves ready for next season.  Get a manager in, sell those we can get rid of and bring in new players with the proceeds.  I would think Gana, Ayew, Veretout and Okore would bring in £25m plus, which if used wisely could bring in some good Championship level players.

Whichis clearly the sensible thing to do.  This is why I'm still convinced that this is at the heart of the resignations, they wanted to just go 'business as usual' whilst Randy wanted to have everything focused on making the sale happen.  The e-mail stuff explains why they walked away but doesn't explain the content of the resignation letters with Bernstein making it clear that he wasn't allowed to the job he was there for and king stating out right that the club is screwed until Lerner sells and then following it up with a comment about the next few weeks i an interview.

I'm not saying there is a sale going through this summer, I'm just convinced that there is currently at least 1 offer on the table, which ties in with the reports that there is a group in due diligence.

Maybe he's tight?

I really hope that is the case Paul, but I remain sceptical.  My guess at the Bernstein and King resignations was that they came up with a plan to take the club forward while also exchanging disparaging emails about Lerner and probably a few of his cronies as well.  Lerner obviously got wind of them and told them in no uncertain terms what he thought of them and quashed their plans in the process.  If that was the case, it would have left Bernstein and King nowhere to go.

The Ellison link is gathering momentum.

Where?
Being reported in the Express, The Sun, Daily Star and local Mail and lots of noise on Twitter.

All of your go-to publications when looking for Truth. Oh, but then there is Twitter of course.

The Larry-thing is so far-fetched it's actually pissing me off.

I know what you mean.

It's so far from reality it makes me feel vaguely queasy.

Mods, can we ban the words 'Larry' and 'Ellison' please? Perhaps even 'takeover'. Best not to torture ourselves.

Even more salient. Are they all wanking themselves blind off the same 2 line throwaway comment from somewhere as reliable as Honda F1 Powertrain Engineering, or have they got several independent sources?
Option 1. Send a packet of Kleenex to TBAR.
Option 2. Keep the Kleenex. The prospect of tears of joy, just exceeded the chances of an unbeaten run to the end of the season.

I sincerely hope that the 'story' that Sir Brian told fans before the game who asked, that a 'takeover is close'.

Admittedly I heard it on WM on the way back, but they must have got that from somewhere.

It would be nice to think it is close, but would someone in Little's position really say that to a random couple of fans?

Somebody on here is holding back. There must be one person who has a friend who is a friend of the groundsman. They always seem to be ITK.
