After his statement I'm even less inclined to believe that a takeover is imminent.

Probably right.

I'm not one to clutch at straws, but I doubt that he's gonna give any signs about a possible take over in a short statement like this.

as one who thought the resignations came about because of Randy selling the club over the heads of the new board which has obviously been proved wrong because of emailgate (don't think anyone got that one right)

I don't see much evidence of any takeover happening very soon, a bit by King that can be taken one of a few different ways, and the rest just press speculation and roumer like we had before

I still think we may well have new owners by the time we kick off in the championship because I reckon Randy will drop the price to sell, but I'm not sure there is a clear front runner at the moment

Think positive, could be seeing a Michael Knighton like announcement before the game tomorrow on the pitch!

The official statement said that Hollis was in extended negotiations.  This could mean that he was negotiating with more than one potential buyer.

Extended negotiations.

Is that like a bridge in snooker?

Quite possible. One thing I do believe is that given the takeover press this week following SH statement, if there was nothing happening then I'm sure the rumours would have been shot down

Unfortunately, in Randy's world 'extended negotiations' could just mean that the potential buyer didn't terminate the call when told the asking price.
