Mansoor has pumped somewhere in the region of 1.2 billion into the club, so taking into account his purchase cost (160m??) the numbers aren't as wild as you might think.  Football is going to be huge in China over the next few years it could be a brilliant investment for both parties.

I reckon they'll find it easier to market Sergio Aguero and David Silva than Mehdi Nafti and Steven Carr.

If only 'Villa fan' Cameron had insisted the Chinese leader had gone where he originally wanted to instead of letting Gideon force him to visit Man City's training ground.

I think Yeung had other financial matters in mind when he bought that lot and the potential in the investment was secondary.

The chinese haven't bought a share of Manchester City FC they have bought into City Football Group. This (CFG) is a parent company and have franchises consisting of Manchester City, New York City, Melbourne City, Yokohama, City Football Japan and City Football China, some of which are football teams. The chinese will not have any say in how Manchester City is run but have been brought on board so that CFG can expand in the chinese market as they see this as the next part of their aim of world domination.

Laughable really that our marketing department emerging market strategy seems to consist of translate the website into Mandarin Chinese.

I wonder what Randy actually wants for the club now - on one hand there is a huge TV deal, the other, a club on the brink with nearly £50 million less talent than in the summer.

A couple of years ago we were making a big push into China and employing someone to work there with the result that our social media presence was the best of all English clubs. Please dont ask what's happened since then.

Kroenke is building a stadium in Los Angeles for TWO NFL teams, which comes at a price of $1.2 billion. They're a bunch of cuts over at Arsenal too.

A couple of years ago we were making a big push into China and employing someone to work there with the result that our social media presence was the best of all English clubs. Please dont ask what's happened since then.

The Chinese who like football (which is second to the NBA in popularity) are only interested in winning clubs and will happily change or add new teams. Our social media strategy only stood a chance with a successful team, Chinese investment or a Chinese sponsor.

I remember a Chinese Saturday evening football programme focused on the Premier League, looking at a different club each week. They went to Bodymoor Heath in 2011 and interviewed Houllier, McAllister and Friedel - the Liverpool connection was their main angle. To be fair we were pretty shit at the time, though nowhere near today's standards.

The theories about Osbourne tilting Chinese investment towards Man City strike me as daft. They would simply be interested in a team which may well win the league again this season and finally start to make a dent in the chumps league. To add context, Spurs, Everton, Newcastle, West Ham just don't register in China either.

Just listening to Keith Harris on Sportsweek . He who was involved in our sale to Randy and has been involved in the sale of at least half a dozen other clubs.
He's saying that as far as he can see, in future the sort of deals that Man City did with the Chinese and yesterday's announcement from Palace that they have taken new investors is probably the way football club ownership is going in this country with current owners selling a percentage of the club to attract new investment.
I wonder if Harris still has any contact with Randy and would Randy be willing to sell say twenty per cent of the club to investors to bring in some money and relieve some of the financial constraints our managers have been under for the last five years.
