Well the announcement about the opening hours changing for the store may be part of a new re-structure of contracts and such.

It's more than likely a very boring meeting!

This is the first time that I am genuinely starting to believe that there is no sale imminent or even brewing.

I'm with you villadelph. During most "takeovers" or whatever you want to call it, there are some leaks. Not one single leak leads me to believe that nothing is really happening.

I'm also hoping I'm dead wrong and we'll all be pleasantly surprised one morning to a new owner loaded with ambition and cash.

Collymore and Ian Taylor tweeting about exciting times ahead does at least indicate there will be good news coming, whatever form it takes.

And though reshuffles at the top and better planning for the future are no doubt good things, I can't imagine they would be things most fans would consider exciting, so those tweets must indicate something more, surely?

Are there, when there's an NDA in place and the number of people involved is small enough that finding out who leaked details wouldn't take a great deal of effort and would lead to someone quickly looking for a new job with a massive blackmark against their name?

Again, I'm not saying it's happening, just that us not hearing leaked details means absolutely nothing. The problem with the internet is the concept of patience has been almost completely lost, a week or 2 of no news feels like an eternity whereas it was just a normal summer 15-20years ago, the Delph situation is another example.  The worst thing is the people who need information on a constant feed to avoid worrying are also the same people who fear the worst about everything and regularly post on the internet to tell people about it.  This leads to an echo chamber effect where a small number of people are panicking that the sky is falling in but they create so much noise that everyone else gets carreid along for the ride.

"Wont break confidences and reveal my sources and it's up to you if you choose to believe or not...

There is no exclusivity at the minute.

All reports are wrong.

There are bids, both serious, one further advanced than the other but no party has exclusivity so it's some way off yet."

In business terms Villa are very small beer hence very little media interest. If you  want to know Barclays are generating so much media interest today it is because they are worth over £ 40bn. We on the other hand are worth about £150 -£200m.

Its a small private transaction

Just seen on the news that the Shanghai stock market has dropped in value by 2 trillion dollars in the last three months and now it's feared the crash will spread to the rest of China.
Makes the idea of Chinese owners seem a bit scary.

The value of UK stock market dropped by £110 billion in under a week at the end of last year. Would that have made the prospect of a UK-based company owning us particularly scary?

The difference is the Chinese government is pouring billions into the market to no effect and the market keeps dropping.

Amazing ,because no official news or leak of  of V P meeting ,we assume it was a staff morale building exercise.  I would of thought if that's the case it would bound to be leaked.

The market rose 100% in just over a year and is currently down 30% so our Chinese billionaires stock market investments are still worth 70% more than they were 12 months or so ago.
