The exclusivity period wasn't reported by Sky, it was broke by John Percy and Pat Murphy, who have substantially more of a clue than SSN.

John, but why would Fox have said that? Why give anything away at all? You see how the media works and you can see how us fans twist and turn everything. Even with the information that has been you have come to your conclusion when nothing has changed since the initial exclusivity period news was announced. There's no win for the club either way.

I think you're setting your expectations low so that you're not disappointed if it doesn't work out. That's fair enough. I'm quite neutral about it. Obviously I hope there's a good prospective owner coming but I'm not pinning all my hopes on it.

I think things have progressed too far for things not to be happening behind the scenes. Just because it's gone quiet doesn't mean that nothing is taking place. Surely a 6 week exclusivity period means just that and the prospective buyer can do their due diligence in making sure everything is in order ahead of a purchase? Why grant it as a seller or seek it as a buyer if either party wasn't serious?

I think it would be smarter to announce the takeover after most of our transfer activity has been completed (with the new owners money) so we don't pay inflated prices if the new guys are loaded.

Takeover or not, I expect deals are in place and ready to go once it sorted, or declined. Hopefully, players are being told that there are exciting times ahead. We'll see I guess.

Seems like a logical conclusion. There has been zero evidence by any credible press source we are in an exclusive period and if we were there is no reason either party would leak it.

The only strange thing is why Fox would hedge the way he did. Then again I haven't watched the video of him being interviewed so the context is missing.

Theres about as much evidence that we are being taken over in the next few weeks as there is that Delph has a 10 mill release clause in his contract

People believe one and not the other according to what they actually want to happen

Lerner wanting to sell doesn't mean it is about to happen, but it is at least an element of certainty.

What worries me is the thought of going through the summer not spending much, putting it down to a takeover going on, only to find out there is no takeover and it is just Randy doing what he's done the last few years.

And that we are stuck with him.

Why would Lerner have to fake a potential buyer in order to excuse not spending anything, when he's got away without the charade the past two pre-seasons?

Bryan Small who does community work/coaching for us has told my daughter that he can't work at their school on Tuesday because he and other staff have been called in for a meeting where announcements are to be made. So there you have it, all sorted, done deal Tuesday. I'm too good for this place, might need to go to where the other ITK's are at TBAR?
